Re: Got the 57, started the project

NICE!!!!!!!
Welcome, I like your previous project. BUT being a 64 area guy and a correct one also, I can hope you leave the Bird a original one.
No matter what you do, to keep a older car on the road, says it all, and do not feel pressured to stay original. TO EACH HIS OWN.

Again Welcome

Re: Complete restoration

Finding a restoration shop vs a collision shop, are two different things. (ask me how I know). Restoration can be a very expensive project if paying someone to do all the work. I recommend that you get all the suppliers catalogues and educate your self on parts cost, and also purchase the shop manua...

Re: window switch rebuild?

To all; the above mentioned comments, are all right on, in facts of weak points of the switches and the rubber seals. I sincerely believe that no matter where you get the replacements, they ALL are by the same manufacturer, just with some small minor price differences. Not mentioning any one specifi...

Re: Winter storage

Greg, all have their own method of storage and thoughts of best for the car. I have "heard" of horror stories on the use of the capsule bags, but no real data to confirm or deny the statements. THE statement being, that the air introduced to the capsule can be moisture laden, where it cond...

Re: Winter storage

To all, read an article in the Toronto Star this morning, in the Wheels section, on winter storage. Something to think about, but I do not agree with all said in the respect of the tires and suspension. To each his own, and just passing on the info. You should be able to access the article on the To...

Re: Plea for power window motor sources

For a MY64 car the seat motor is a workable fitment; but I believe that on a MY66 the door motors are different. I can be wrong on this, but my memory says different A MY64 car and window motor have a coupling that the window motor drives through, to a separate removable worm gear box. On a MY66 the...

Re: Plea for power window motor sources

In Canada, try Mort White. He is a member of our Club (SOTC) and advertises in the Newsletter. Mort also rebuilds window motors and other items. Look him up. He might solve your problem. Why look farther away, than, almost next door Mort usually attends and gives tutorials at our spring Tech Day, wh...

Re: Heartbreak...

Two points to ponder; 1) Guy that caused the accident, since he has no licence, nor insurance, will probably claim no contest, and will report bankruptcy. Leaving you with no compensation. Do not know the American legal system, but here in Canada (Ontario), there is a supposed provincial support sys...

Re: wipers

Or a speck of material (dirt) caught in the wiper motor spool valve, not allowing it to fully close. Cars of this vintage could have the internal hose starting to fail and delaminating. Ask me how I know.

Jim, not sure if you mixed up the hose manufactures. Eaton owns Weatherhead, so they will be same product. It is Parker Hannafin who go by "Parker" is the alternate hose.

Re: Source for cloth braided trans cooler hose.

Bill, far be it that I cost you a sale, I did not realize you were a stocking supplier of the product. I was sourcing it locally, as Weatherhead was a problem to get. Everyone can make up their minds, I was only trying to help by presenting an alternate. Regards Wally K BTW Merry Christmas see you n...

Re: Source for cloth braided trans cooler hose.

Well it has been an interesting morning, of meeting face to face hose dealers, and getting info; plus talking to tech services of manufactures. Forget my Gates reference of a slip-on cloth cover, it will shrink to cover the hose, but relaxes and loosens back up NO GOOD. Having done some cross refere...
