What are suggested whitewall ties to put on 1956 TBird? JG Do I have the only 56 TBird with a 327 4barrel carb with a manual choke/ cable? Please tell us you don't have a "belly-button" small-block Chevrolet V8 in a 'Bird...all Y-blocks in T-birds used a thermostatic choke on the carb, so...

Yes, or the adjustment is too loose. First step is to check the adjustment, then bleed if necessary. I shall try both.... If lots of pumping brake pedal and it does come up does that mean I need to bleed brakes? Well I checked the adjusters at brakes and All 4 felt the same bit of light rub on the ...

Thanks all for info on my new purchase 56 Bird.
Some gin project lies ahead I see..
Another question- Some parts stuff I reads say “ Fits EARLY 56 Bird and some fits Later 56 TBird”
What is cut off dates or serial number they reference from factory build?

Thanks all for comments. I sure hope there is not a Chevy Block Motor under this hood.. Is there a number on the 312 block or motor that I can look for? Is the frozen heat riser valve on the right exhaust manifold ok to leave as is? It appears to be open position best I can tell from feel of exhaust...

Heat riser valve

My right exhaust header heat valve is stuck on my 56 Bird. I assume stuck open as exhaust out tail pipes feel equal flow. Do I really need to do anything with this rusty valve? And- my carb has a manual choke cable (312 v8 with holly tea pot 4 barrel)- is that cable normal for 1956? Also- is Coker t...

My 56 TBird power brake pedal has a lot of travel down before getting brake on.?
And I can’t loosen the collar nut on steering wheel post to move wheel in and out? Any suggestions to help? JG
