Re: Replace Or Recover

Depending on how worn the rest of the panel looks, what about fixing it and painting to match?

Re: What to fix with hood and hinges off.

Sorry guys, this is a complete driver that is in very good original condition I have driven all summer. I will be doing paint touchup in the engine compartment. Nothing else needs to come apart in that area. The inner fenders are original paint in excellent condition. I have done some engine repaint...

What to fix with hood and hinges off.

I will be doing some detail work this spring and have the hood and hinges off. I know the rag joint and steering column rebuild can be done easier with the hinge off. Any other items to check or look into that are easier while I have the hinges off? My brakes currently work fine, but I would like in...

Re: wheel fitment 66 jetbird

This gets so confusing with back space and offsets,,, I have 17x8 american racing with 0 offset and had to modify the front bottom fender edge quite a bit to clear steering. The tires are 235/55 /17,, I think. Im not at home now, so guessing. I was lucky enough to find a classic car guy at a Discoun...

Re: adjusting rear bumper

Bob,,,I love that reply. One of my theories is how easy can I make it??. As in jacking up the door to realign it. Wait!! before stoning,,I must admit I have done it in the past when I was much younger with other vehicles, but the Birdy deserves better. I am not beyond trying it again on something, b...

adjusting rear bumper

Hello, the search found me nothing. I need to adjust my rear bumper and am wondering if I need to pull any lights or if I can get at it all from underneath the car. I need both up and down and front to back a little bit. Thanks, Frank

Re: Installing fender skirts on 66

Mine dont have a manufacturer on them, but still a bit of magic marker indicating 64-66 models. Interesting that the marker still is there after at least 25 plus years. Mine have the screws on the back and top. The front has a spring loaded pin that fits onto a hole. I do like the idea of nuts on at...

Re: Runnin' with the "Big Dogs"

Thats great!! Now to make people cringe a bit. Im was just watching a show about resto corvettes, basically an old vette body on a new chassis. I was thinking how funny that could be to have a newer high performance mustang chassis under a bird with about 500 hp and the handling package. That would ...

Re: Installing fender skirts on 66

Thanks for the input, I realize all that. Im thinking the problem is putting the skirts on with the trim still on. Its just a struggle getting them on. I like to run with them on and off sometimes, so thats why I left the trim on.
