Re: Carburator - Build or Buy?
OK, I finally ran back out and looked again - I have a C2SF-A carburetor (I just bid on a used C2SF-B - not sure what the diff is, but it has to be close?)

Re: Carburator - Build or Buy?
Thanks, Karl - I got all excited, then saw he didn't have anything close to mine in stock - but he offers a rebuild for 4100's for $195 (but said "no frozen junkers" accepted - does mine fit that category? Lol!

Re: Carburator - Build or Buy?
Thanks, 60fore - I will go out and take another look for the number - I may just go ahead and take it off Geoff, let me know if you get contact info for the NY rebuilder guy (but I am more than likely going to buy another one). I saw that one on ebay you sent me - comments say "God rebuildable ...

Re: Carburator - Build or Buy?
OK, many thanks again, Guys! - I see the rebuilder on ebay - there's also a rebuilt one for sale that might work? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1964-Ford-352-V8-Original-Ford-Autolite-4100-4V-Not-a-clone-P-N-4-100-/222019726088?hash=item33b1682b08:g:9JAAAOSwuAVWujsZ&vxp=mtr What do you think? I'm goin...

Re: Carburator - Build or Buy?
Thanks, Guys! - and yes, I knew about the timing being possibly off, and have not gotten that far into troubleshooting. Btw, I forgot to mention, the choke plate is 'frozen' (stuck) in the full-open position. So I am leaning toward just replacing it - eBay has a slew of new 4B carbs they *say* will ...

Carburator - Build or Buy?
Well, my celebration of my running '62 Bird was short-lived - went out to start her again this morning, and she fires, sputters, then severe backfires (actually does a small fire in the carb - scary!). So looks like I am in the market for a new carb - should I get a (re)built, or just buy a new one?...

Re: Fuel Pump Replacement
Gentlemen, start your engines! (or, is it Houston, we have fuel to carb and ignition?) I removed and re-installed the new fuel pump - this time, I angled the pump arm DOWN and pushed it in. There was a slight pressure on the pump, but I was able to reinstall the 2 bolts. So, I turned her over a few ...

Re: Fuel Pump Replacement
OK, thanks, Joe - I might try that I did call Mac's, just to be sure that I didn't have the lines reversed - the new pump has an upper and lower port - I have the line to carb on the upper (Mac's told me, that's correct). But it is possible that the pump arm is sitting ON TOP OF the cam eccentric, v...

Re: Fuel Pump Replacement
Joe, when I blew out the tank-to-pump line yesterday, there was gas in it
Should I have (somehow?) primed the pump?
I will go back out and grind away and see what happens
