It might be too late, but the first thing I would so when the speedometer sounds like you described is to remove the inner cable from the speedometer cable and lube it.

Can't help you on the removal. I got a 56 and its different.

Check your grounds at the bulb. Even though everything may be new does not mean that the grounds are ok. Run temporary grounds at the bulbs and try the lights.

When weird things happen to lights (head, tail, parking, stop) it usually is a ground problem

Let us know what the cause was.

You may be able to get one at your local Ford dealer, although he may have to order it. Its a commercial battery. That is where I got mine, and the best part it says Ford/Motorcraft. Price was comparable to other batteries. I would check with NAPA too.. I heard sears carries it, but that it is a spe...

The seat is held in by four bolts through the floor pan. Take these out and the seat can be pulled.

What I have heard of others doing is using the stock booster for only the front brakes as these do the most work. I'm not sure you can use the stock booster on both front and rear because of the design?????

Headlight dimmer switch

Is the wiring a new harness)? if so, there is the possibility that the harness plug was wired incorrectly. If you look inside the plug, you may see some tabs that can be bent with a very thin knife (like a steak knife) so you can pull the wire and terminal out and reinsert in the correct port. There...

Pretty simple - at the bottom there will be something holding the surround piece together. Some times this is missing. Undo this and then you have to stretch the surround off the tire. Go easy.

I have used the procedure Joe Johnson mentioned on three cars and it worked. But I put the vacuum line that goes from the engine compartment to the wiper into a cup of brake fluid and then did the wiper thing to suck it up. Throw any unused brake fluid away - do not return it to the brake fluid can....

First, the 57's ran a spacer plate under the carb - its around 3/4 of an inch, maybe an inch.

I can't help you on the air cleaner, but check a local source that carries aftermarket air cleaners and see if you can do some eyeballing.

A 13 inch may be too large, possibly something around 10 inch.

I know 'steel is real' but a friend of mine bought a fibreglass one for his 55 (don't know who made it) but it fit very good. The downside is that you have to drill all the holes and there are plenty of them.

I highly recommend the CTCI Thunderbird Restoration Details and Specifications Manual by Gil Baumgartner. Most TBird parts suppliers have this. I don't think VTCI has a comparable manual. While VTCI ia a fine organization, I recommend you also join CTCI. I hope I don't get too much flack on this.
