Well that's too bad. There are narrower GM MC's like the one in my link above but even that one looks kinda long.
Hopefully all works out well with PBE!

Re: Opinions on replacing window motors?
The resistor wires in the 64 to 66. Tbirds are installed from the motors to ground, the rear ground runs from the motor to the driveshaft tunnel and terminates under the console box with a screw into the tunnel metal. True but they are just current limiting. Until the motor draws excessive current,...

Re: Opinions on replacing window motors?
I still have the original motors in my doors. The rears are another story. If they work, I would not replace them. The problems I've had were more with switches and wiring having huge voltage drops across them. In your case I would first suspect the switch has finally failed. Certainly check to make...

Re: Replacing MC on a 66 with a dual bowl
As pathetic as it sounds, I have spent hours pouring over different MC's on Ford and GM product using the Rock Auto site. You can look at the shapes of the unit and get all their specs like piston size and port sizes. GM liked to use bigger MC bores as a rule. A bigger bore requires more pedal effor...

Re: Replacing MC on a 66 with a dual bowl
Wally, that booster is only a single 7" where as the unit on 64's are 9" and the 65~67 are double 9's (20% more assist than a single 9). So the Mustang unit would not provide nearly as much assist. The whole thign is ultra confusing! Everything in the system affects everything else! Lookin...

Re: Cruise o matic Small case Modulator?
Yes, COM's have a modulator on the Dr. side, just above the pan. Follow the metal line and it should have a short rubber portion connecting it to the modulator. Often it's just the hose that has popped off or split and when that happens, the trans always thinks the eng is at WOT.

Re: Replacing MC on a 66 with a dual bowl
That's a good deal, especially if yours is pretty nice ie not rusted, pitted and dented. When I called Booster Dewey about mine, he said most of them he gets as cores are beat and have had MC leak into them. Mine was cosmetically great so I sent it in for rebuild.

Re: NSS 1966 C6
Along with all the parts at the top of the colum that wear out and make the shifter sloppy, there's a bushing at the bottom in the eng compartment that's critical. It's between the outer steering colum and the shift tube and if it hasn't ever been replaced, it needs it. The material they used just d...

Re: Unleaded gas filler neck insert
I keep a thick rag folded up inside the filler area. No matter how I try, it always shoots some out and wants to damage the paint in there so the rag soaks it up and allows it to dry up without touching anything painted.
I know that's not much of a fix but it's all I could come up with.

Re: NSS 1966 C6
I don't know the answer to your question but I'm sure someone else here does.
OTOH, if you don't fix it, you'll want to plug that line. Otherwise you have a vacuum leak.
Were there any wires going to the COM NSS? If not then that's probably all it's there for.

Re: Heater core, new or re-core?
Thanks gents, I was actually thinking of Greenwood Radiator (in Northgate) which were the guys that did my rad. Getting the heaviest, thickest or what ever, so that it never has to be touched again is my goal.

Heater core, new or re-core?
Hey, that rhymes! I plan on replacing my heater core this winter (if I can get all my other projects done) and I'm torn between buying one from someplace like The Bird Nest and just having mine re-cored. I have no idea what the quality of new parts is or where they're made. I know Spectre doesn't ma...

Re: Quarter window speed
Hey Mark, have you looked to see if you have a loose track or a bad roller or guide? (What ever they use - I forget!) Might also make sure the housing is still tightly bolted at the bottom. My rears hadn't worked almost from the time I got the car as a teenager. It was only about 5 years ago that I ...

Re: Quarter window speed
You mean the rears? Yes, even when they're working well they don't go very fast but if they actually go all the way up and down I think you're doing pretty good . Four seconds sounds good to me! They are very voltage dependant and move a lot quicker with the eng running. Even then, there's a large v...
