Re: Tinted Windshield
Thunderbirds could be ordered with optional tinted windshield which had a green tint band across the top or you could order tinted glass for all windows.

Re: Exhaust flange gasket
I always coat the original style meatal gaskets with a light covering of Never Seize. Do the bolts also and they will come out easily when you have to remove them in the future.

Re: P/S Fresh Air Vent Hose??
What you are referring to I understand is under the hood, that is the water drain hose from the air intake area. The air intake is contained under the cowl grill area Search this forum and you should find many threads on replacing the hose that connects to the heater box and repairing leaks in the m...

Next time it happens I would check the main breaker to see if it is open, if is tripped it will not take to long to reset.

Re: OEM brake pads
Scott Checked set of calliper pads that I have they have AFK6FF stamped on the edge of the pads, trade number is PT 728. My old Bendix catalog does not list a pad for 65/66 Thunderbird, Wagner does list them as 728. The box lists them for 67/68 Cadillac Eldorado 149772, 65/67 Tbird, 65/67 Galaxie C7...

Re: Clarification on motor/trans pull EDIT followup on pull both ways, photos
Paul I have always done them as a set took a COM transmission out of my 59 Ford retractable hardtop by its self once on the floor would never do that again either they have cast iron bell housings and are they heavy to handle on your back. Bought a low rider trans jack before we tried to put it back...

Re: Sport Roadster Verification
You should also check the vin data on the radiator upper cross member and or the one found on the top of the cowl on the right side. Someone could have got a vin plate off a wreck and installed it and the roadster parts onto a 85 convertible.

Re: Hood Insulation For late 65
I do not agree with the early late theory of the 64 or 65 style hood insulators. Ford had at least two suppliers for everything they out sourced to build cars not taking a chance that a supplier may have labor or material issues that could shut down the assembly line. I have documented early build 6...

Re: Wiper Motor Access
Steve
The 61 and 62 have electric wipers the 63 has hydraulic wipers that runoff the power steering return line.
The electric wiper motor can be accessed by removing the speaker grille and speaker, not easy but can be done. The 63 hydraulic system is installed under the cowl air intake panel.
