Re: 1964 convertible neutral safety switch
You might want to hook up a jumper wire across the NSS contacts to see if the switch is good. With the wire in place, turn the key and see if the starter engages.

Re: intermittent headlights
That's what this is, an in-line blade-type fuse. I installed it when I installed the relays.

Re: intermittent headlights
Turns out, the relays were good. The problem was the fuse holder for the high-beam fuse. The fuse seems to work its way up and doesn't stay seated. When I press it down, everything's fine.

Re: intermittent headlights
Follow-up: I installed my new dimmer switch today. Made no difference. I have low-beam lights, but when I press the dimmer switch, I have no headlights at all. The red high-beam indicator comes on, but no headlights. As I said in my original post, I already checked the connections and fuses. I think...

Re: Roof Rail Rubber
Thanks for the advice. I'll try leaving the door open until it cures.

Re: Roof Rail Rubber
I'm going to try some 3M weatherstrip adhesive. I was trying to avoid that because the previous owner used so much it was a huge mess trying to remove it. Thanks for the tip.

Roof Rail Rubber
I recently bought new rubber for the roof rails on my '66 (Landau/Town Hardtop type). It appears to be a good fit and very soft and pliable (purchased from Dennis Carpenter--highly recommend). Problem is, as soon as I close the door, the rubber pops out of the metal track--mainly the vertical sectio...

Re: intermittent headlights
Thanks for all the suggestions. I took a look at the high-beam switch on the floor. The rubber connector looks like it's partially melted at one corner. What does that suggest? Should I replace the high-beam switch and see if that solves the problem?

intermittent headlights
A year or two ago I installed relays for my headlights. Everything has worked fine until recently. Occasionally, I'll switch on the high beams and suddenly I have no lights--no low beams or high beams, although the high-beam indicator on the dash lights up. After a minute or two, everything is back ...

Does your parts car have AC? I'm looking for parts for the dash vents.

Re: Interior trim
I have the same exterior and interior color. When I got the car, I had to dye my door panels and the dash. I went to an auto paint store in my area and gave them a sample. They did a great job with the color match. Panels/dash still look good after nearly 10 years.

Re: Neutral Safety Switch Spring
Thanks for the tips about a replacement unit. I know a lot of them are junk. I have my eyes on a "new" one on eBay (still in the Motorcraft box).

Re: Neutral Safety Switch Spring
Thanks for clearing that up. Apparently, mine broke off the slider. Looks like I'm in the market for a replacement NSS.

Re: New to me! 1964 Coup
Looks like a good one. Must've been well cared for over the past 57 years.
Good luck with it.
