Re: Fuel tank parts clarification..
Hey all, Not to hijack a thread...but hey it could help me and OP - as well as others. So, my 64 was a project car for someone else, now myself. The tank looks brand new however, when I fill the tank it leaks from where the filler meets the tank it would seem. Not sure if it leaks when filling, a gu...

Re: Relay burned up
I just realized I might have answered the wrong question. If you were trying to understand the ISO relay's designations a nice article is here: https://www.12voltplanet.co.uk/relay-guide.html . Both your posts are awesome - thank you! What I wanted to know is if the relay is not marketed in any way...

Re: Power Locks
Hey Scott, Thanks! Did your car have factory vacuum locks? If so did you have to replace the locks or anything? I was hoping I could just disconnect the hoses, plug them, and hook up some actuators and go. Here is the kit I am looking at: https://www.ebay.com/itm/Universal-4-Door-Power-Central-Lock-...

Power Locks
Hello all, I want to update my 64's door locks. As it stands it has vacuum door locks and I really do not want to mess with a bunch of lines, and maybe end up needing more parts/expensive parts. I see all these kits on eBay for actuators and so on. I have had a bad experience with aftermarket actuat...

Re: Relay burned up
Hey Guys, So I am going through my car and doing some rewiring. I am learning as I go. My car has been hacked up electrically, you would not believe some of the systems they installed or literal copper wire to bridge connections. Now, I am learning a GREAT deal about relays - and I am experimenting....

Re: Gear shift lever removal, do I need to pull bearing first?
Sounds great! I will look it up. I am not in a position to do this job right now - but I can leave the steering wheel on though and do it all externally so to speak - except for sticking it in the column? I really appreciate it - hope mine has a bushing with it! I am sure from your response that is ...

Re: Gear shift lever removal, do I need to pull bearing first?
Had a question - I am not able to do much on my 64 right now - mom is really sick - but I have ordered a new shifter to help with the slop in mine. First, can this be removed and reinstalled with the steering wheel still on the car? Second, is there some sort of bushing I need to install in the hole...

Re: 1964 tbird passing inspection
Yes mine looks exactly like that but nothing lights up lol. I'm wondering if power that is needed is cut for this panel. I found a connector that was loose on the drivers side that looks like it went into a relay. However, I see no relay... I got the flasher on order and I'm going to clean up the fu...

Re: 1964 tbird passing inspection
Hello,
So mine does have that package...hmmm, they don't need to know that lol.
Seriously, I ordered fuses and a new emergency flasher. Past that, any ideas folks? I would like to get them to work/probably need them to work.

1964 tbird passing inspection
Hello All, As some of you know I just purchased a 64 'bird from out of my state. In my state of Kentucky in order to register the car in my name - without it being a salvage title I need working Brake light, turn signals, headlights, horn, and emergency flashers. (just out of state cars are inspecte...

I got my 64 tbird in from eBay...
First let me say - WOW - I love my car - but WOW - am I in for some work! There is more surface rust than I was led to believe, and it starts right up but is running a little rich. I need to get the horn working somehow to pass inspection - gonna start there. It seems to shift okay but does not want...

Thanks, guys, you all are awesome!
So...how bad is it to pull the trans on one of these. If I can do that part I'm sure I can save a ton. Be brutally honest about it lol.

1964 tbird transmission
Hello All, I have wanted a 64 tbird for all my life - finally was able to save some cash to buy one. Bought it off eBay and am having it shipped to my house. The seller tells me that the car has to warm up first before it will go into gear - once it does that it shifts fine. Does this mean a whole t...
