Re: 1964 transistorized ignition amplifier location?
Scott, as Terry states and confirming, the AMP is located mid span on the passenger side of dash, bolted to the upper shell, and can be accessed by removing the lower kick panel as it wraps under at the passenger's shins. The unit is about 4 inches by 4 inches, and 2 inches deep.

Re: Replacing temperature sending unit
FYI I run an OE Rad in my car and the temp gauge runs half way to the "T" when travelling, but climbs to just under the "E" when parked and idling in the sun on hot pavement. When I turn the engine off and it sits the gauge rises to the "P". Restarting and the temps dro...

Yes there is a members Roster, which you can down load by contacting the Clubs Secretary upon proof of membership. The Roster lists by State/Province.

Re: The Ever Changing Quest for Brake Boosters
I have 2 used but originally fuctional 64 boosters in my inventory. The issue is cost to ship, so I have not moved on them. I know there is a casting shortage, but willing to offer to one who needs at a shipping cost plus a donation in my name to the VTCI. Lets put the donation at $50.00 USD plus sh...

Re: Fender mounted turn signal indicator
If memory serves, body wiring feeding the turn indicators is RED on passenger side and YELLOW on drivers side. With a single wire, and NO grounding wire on the indicators for a 65.

Re: Is the vinyl top padded on 66?
IF this car is an original low mileage car, it is a gold mine of information for you, Scott and Alan, also.
Interested to know what you find.
My question would be does the car have A/C, does it have the raised shroud, and what does the Caution Fan decal looks like, both in size, font and colours.

Re: 64 Starter Motor Spacer
Of all the 64 MY cars I have built, and/or maintained, I have never seen nor replaced a RUBBER seal/spacer on the starter motor. I will say that I have seen a rubber seal under the inspection plate, as it bolts up to the bell housing, on some cars. Probably tossed when the car/tranny was worked on. ...

Re: 1964 thunderbird coil wires
The pink resistor wire is located behind the dash, behind the upper dash panel in the harness that runs across the car, just under where the A/C bellows would sit. One end terminates at the Ign Switch, the other end down at the fuse panel at the passengers feet. Both ends have a bullet end and simpl...

Have you looked under the rear seat or within the seat back springs, or even the carpets for the ROT sheet? You may get lucky and find it and then all the info will be in your hands.

Just make sure you ground the CVR, and not leave it hanging in free air. Also note there was a "Choke" attached to the CVR for radio suppresion.

Re: Newbie - Hi All - 1964 question
If the shifter detent plate is worn and not holding the lever in a true correct shifter lock position the Neutral Safety Switch "NSS" will not be fully in its home location. This can be verified if you pull up the shift lever and the car will start. By manually holding the lever up you are...

Re: Steering Rag Joint broke
Yes but the steer box and the Column will only go togeather in one postion as the retaining bolt is slotted into the input/output shafts. You can not assemble a few degrees out of origin as the fixture bolts will not insert into the flex joint or the two input shafts. The only possible way to have a...
