Craigslist isn't what it used to be. Consider Bring-a-trailer

Re: Another sucker!
Your best return on investment would be getting It running and driving then sell it for the best price you can get.

Re: 1964 engine swap ideas
Godzilla engine. 1) It’s a Ford 2) It’s big enough to move a T-bird, more displacement than a coyote, 445 glorious cubic inches 3) it is a center cam so it is narrow enough to fit between the inner fenders https://performanceparts.ford.com/part/M-6007-73 A junkyard version would probably be cheaper....

Re: Convertible Top Troubleshooting
I'm not as familiar with the 1962. I've seen them at shows, and one of my old bosses used to have a bullet bird, but I've never worked on one. There are certainly similarities, but there are also important differences. You may get more help from the 1961-1963 Thunderbird forum.

Re: 64 Restoration
I got my rear springs from Eaton Detroit spring and I was living in Michigan at the time so I picked them up right at the factory. It looks like they make the springs right there in downtown Detroit in Corktown right across the street from where Tiger Stadium used to sit. Unless General Spring buys ...

Re: gear vendors
It has been a long process, but after some other challenges I've got the car back down on the ground and I took it out for a shakedown test drive yesterday. The speedo cable is a little loose, so, I've got to correct that, but otherwise it worked nicely. I drove about 50 miles on the highway and hil...

Re: 66 front end rattling with acceleration when hot outside
Maybe a very slightly bent push rod. The lifters are supposed to take up the slack ( lash) in the valve train a warped push rod might cause a noise. If you are taking the valve covers off, pull the rockers and remove the push rods. Clean them and roll the across a mirror. Even a small warp will be n...

Re: 66 front end rattling with acceleration when hot outside
What kind of valve train do you have? Could be valve float, particularly if you've got a weak or broken valve spring.

Re: 66 front end rattling with acceleration when hot outside
Also spark knock (detonation) will not happen revving the engine up in park. It happens under load and heat makes it worse.
Upsizing the carburetor jets one size might help, but it will hurt your fuel consumption.

Re: 66 front end rattling with acceleration when hot outside
Sounds to me like detonation. Bad spark knock sounds like walnuts being shaken up in a coffee can. What kind of gas are you filling up with? These cars recommended octane was 100 leaded, impossible to buy unless you can get avgas. If it is spark knock, backing off on the timing a few degrees will he...

I have 3 3/4” backspace, but 4” would probably work.
