Re: I'm new here, So hello and tell me this
None of these cars would be truly 'stock' using that criteria. Even my 12K original bird wouldn't fall under that category. I have reproduction plug wires, hoses and tires on her. Few of our cars are in the 100 point club, although I am interested in seeing how close mine will fall. This forum is mo...

Re: just bought my first 1961 T-Bird
It could be. These cars are puzzle pieces sometimes. Sometimes late 61s will have parts that were intended for 62s just like crossover parts from 62-63 so it is possible, if it is a late run 61, for it to have a 62 style tank. That is what makes it such a PIA to get the right parts.

Re: New Member near Seattle
There are a couple of good clubs up in that area. The VTCI PNW is based out of Seattle. Good folks there, very friendly. Down in Tacoma there is the Rainier South Sound Vintage Thunderbird Club. Another group with a fairly good sized membership and friendly helpful folks. Depending on where you are ...

Re: Great looking '63 Convertible
It's had some work done but that is expected. I am sure it was a US import. Who knows, maybe a service member took it to England and left it there. Chrome dress up kid obviously isn't 'original' although it could have been a dealer added option. Engine block is wrong color, It still is a pretty car.

I already told him that he will end up buying another one.
He didn't deny it.

Re: Four Days on the road and I'ma a gonna make it home tonight
She would have been well taken care of with you RAVEN. I have wanted three different T-birds that I have always wanted. A Sports Roadster, a Principality of Monaco and an original unaltered version. I still am not sure why I am so fixated on the 61-63 Birds. There is just something inherently cool w...

Four Days on the road and I'ma a gonna make it home tonight
Well, after 1800 miles and a couple of mishaps I got 'The Survivor' home. I bought her from 60Fore, figured I'd keep her in the Thunderbird Family. A couple of months ago I got ahold of Gary to discuss buying the car. This was one of the few T-birds that I would be interested in. I wanted a unique c...

Re: Contact info for 61-63 build sheets
I don't think they carry any gate releases for 61-63 HTs or Landaus. I'm not totally sure about convertibles but I am sure they bought up the remaining Eminger gate releases from her son after Lois passed away. I was of the understanding that she only collected the Sports Roadster Gate releases but ...

Re: 1962 Tbird basket case, save it? scrap it?
The 70/71 Birds had a similar roofline. Since the 71/72 are essentially modified versions of the earlier bodystyle I am willing to bet that someone could 'craft' that roofline to make it look similar to the 69 Torino Fastback roofline you are seeing. Would be some work but cool to see if it was pull...

Re: 1961-62 Thunderbird confusion.
You have to also remember that these cars were really only collectable in the last 20-25 years. Before that these were just another old car that people owned. A lot of these cars were involved in fender benders over the years and often parts were replaced by going to the local junkyard. Dent the fro...

Re: Gas
I've ran ethenol added fuels in both my Fairlane and my Thunderbird without problems. Both have had extensive carburator rebuilds and of course hardened valve seats so they run on premium without an issue. If you have a carb with an older rebuild or an original carb that hasn't been rebuilt then don...

Re: 1963 Thunderbird Sports Roadster
I am going to bump this. I will try to get pics up tomorrow. Wife told me earlier that I wasn't going to sell it, well things are changing. Price is now 14K firm. We are wanting to move and while I really wanted to complete this car I am going to probably lose storage for all the parts. So she is ba...

Re: 1963 Conv. w Factory A/C
Not sure.
My SR has no A/C. I suspect the numbers with air conditioning is less than HTs or Landaus. Not counting the expense a lot of folks with a convertible would think air conditioning would be unnecessary.

Re:
Agree that this show is a joke, but all of these "reality" shows have no relation to reality. Scripted and staged. One of the more popular ones, I think it's called Pawn Stars, is famous for hiring tourists off the street to come in and pretend to be sellers of interesting antiques. The &...
