Re: Electric windows

I agree with Mr Tast, Again the 61-63 Bullet Birds are all different in wiring schematics. amongst other things that each car has. Getting the year manuals of your car can make easy for you understand how your car works.

Re: Oil Bath Conversion Question

The wife wants this as a driver car, so please keep that in mind. If the decision is to convert, all original parts will be retained so it can go back to an oil bath should she find another car she likes better. But reasons for converting to a dry filter include: 1. Ease of maintenance. 2. Less mes...

Re: Oil Bath Conversion Question

I'm asking why ? convert what would be the advantage and disadvantage. I would do more investigating on this issue to convert a oil bath air cleaner to just a air filter. My car is oil bath filter I never had a issue..

Re: I am a new member of your forum.

I would be very careful about the lighter connections. A member a while ago had a fire in his bird caused by the connections from the lighter....Make sure that you have the correct wires.

Re: I am a new member of your forum.

WOW ! that is a nice 57, What you described is nothing what your beauty looks like. I'm glad to see that you are a head of the rebirth of your dads baby. I 'm sure some one will acknowledge your request for a color wire schematic chart. I have a 56, the wiring would be different.....again welcome, p...

Re: I am a new member of your forum.

Welcome to our forum, Sorry to hear about your Father. I had the same experience with my Father. Your doing the right thing in making a "punch list" on what works and what doesn't. We have members that know their stuff when it comes to these "Baby Birds". May I suggest look into buying a few manuals...

Re: 1962 button by ignition

When the emergency brake is engaged, lights up when engaged. caution not to poke your finger into the lens. Somebody did when I had my car taken in for a oil change, It was a pain trying to put the lens back in. The housing is a spring loaded when you turn to un engage it. It's PITA !

Re: Soft Top rarity or curiosity?

Thank you OldMics! I am surprised that these were reproduced. Just seems to be a part that would have low demand and high cost to make. I know that you may not won't to say who that Vendor is, but I will search a couple of catalogs to see if I can find it. Thanks again. HAZ567 This might be an answ...

Re: Fuel Pump

I also have a 56 and installed a new I think it was a carter but I'm not 100 percent sure on that. Car ran fine until I layed into it a little and it would bog down like it was running out of gas. I went ahead and put in an electric fuel pump to supplement the mechanical and the problem completely ...

Re: Wire wheel covers

Thanks. I actually do not have skirts on the car. Although a pair of skirts came (unattached) with the car, they were never repainted as part of the restoration. I have read so much about issues with skirts that I never decided to get them painted and put on. I feel the skirts make the Iconic look ...

Re: Aftermarket gas tank

Nice find, Is there a continental kit attached to the back of the 62? If so there was never one. If there is it's an after market not OEM....
