Re: 390 dipstick length

Just a thought, before purchasing any dip stick, check in the Search area for any previous posts on this subject. You may be want to double check your lengths, against a freshly changed oil level, that will identify a true/correct level. I would never rely on installing a new unit based on a part nu...

Re: Emblem Barrel clips

Randy, hoping to hold the Tech Day next year. The only barrier is the VIRUS. The SOTC Board of Directors have planned a meeting to close this poor activity year and set in motion next year's plans. The Tech Day is still planned to be the starting point of the New Year. When the date is finalized, I ...

Re: Emblem Barrel clips

Depending on the quality level of car, (concourse or driver) quality of scripts on hand, access to blind panel locations and potential future situations and conditions, the mounting of the specific scripts need to be considered. In a Concourse situation, you will have high quality Scripts, with prop...

Re: Electrical charging

Photos, I think you just self diagnosed your issue. The Alternator in your car in stock form, at best is a 45 Amp unit. You are creating an overload situation and the Alternator just cannot keep up. This is indicated by the AMP gauge showing a discharge state and the battery running flat. (It can on...

Re: Windshield washer problem

The W/W switch is a N.C. unit, with a spring actuated contact. In the normal resting position, and the spring loaded W/W lever in its parked location, there is a plunger on the lever that pushes the contacts open. (Wow what a mouth full) When you pull back on the W/W under dash lever, the spring loa...

Re: Tonneau cover 1966 tbird

Rgoode, where are you located? Unless sold, by owner, I know of an original Tonneau which is reported for sale. If interested, let me know and will check to see if still available. Knowing it is an original complete with wax crayon markings and pin wheel stamp the price will be reflective. If you pl...

Have not seen or heard of any original tonneau concave trim pieces for years. If they still exist or are found then you won the "Pot of Gold.
Not saying not available but will be a challenge.

Re: 1964 Thunderbird Convertible questions

Do you have a shop manual for your car?!?! It is all explained in the book, and alot of other items. We the group, all recommend the Shop Manual, and mean no bad will, but without it, you will be at the cars mercy. Buy the book, at a minimum, any other books only apply to the level of how far you pl...

Re: Oil pan drain hole thread stripped

Yes. You can buy replacement drain plugs that are self taping. You just need to take the old one and compare against units that are incrementally sized, both in inch and metric sizes. It may mean that you will have to buy 2 or three to find the one that works best for you. I believe Dorman or Lieski...

Jen, I would be cautious of garages as they may think they have a blonde, who knows nothing. Sad to think that way as I know many who are smarter than the average. It is comforting to see Redstang post as I know he is in your general area and will not steer you wrong. Many factors come into play, on...
