Re: Carpet color for 1966 trim 25 red interior

Yes, your understanding about the darker color carpet in the 1966 Red interior is correct. As you said, the carpet matched the dash cove and seat backs.
The interior in this 1966 Town Landau is 100% original from the headliner down to the factory installed carpet (the floor mats were reproductions ...

Re: More '56 TB Wiring ?'s

You will always read continuity to ground from the Field and Armature terminals on a generator. It will not be 0 but will be the resistance of the field coils and windings in the armature.

(Yeah, I realize that might be a rash assumption ... s pretty easy to check the fuel pressure and flow rate of the fuel pump. You might consider doing that before spending hundreds on a new carb that ...

Apparently, like Rt.146, you too have a rectangular jack base, but yours is painted black, not blue. However, yours would make two '66 'Bird's we can now document with rectangular jack bases. Interesting.
Sierra John, can you provide us with the ...

@DonD57 ... "custom built extended shroud for same"

I recall that the fan blades should actually be placed somewhat behind the exit from the stock ... tips, into the engine bay.

If the fan is buried deep inside the shroud, you effectively have installed a 'hot air screw' that moves the air from ...

Re: What's the Best Water Pump to use

I have never used the baffle. I don't even remember if you can run the baffle with the Casco pump 8501HO. There are many opinions on that part #8502. I made a 1,500 mile round trip this past summer to the CTCI Nationals with my 57 with a/c on the whole trip and never had a overheating problem. I live ...

Re: 15 in wheels for 63bird

I've been playing with 30's-40's Fords so long 15in just came up,but thanks for center hole size explanation

Considering my 'retirement' project sitting in the same building with my 'Birds is a '40 V8 Tudor 'basket case,' it's a good thing you didn't say you were trying to fit a 16"x4" - 5x5 wheel.

Re: 15 in wheels for 63bird

You do realize that the original wheels were 14" diameter x 5-1/2" wide. Prior to 1962 a larger center hole (2-5/8") was used, going back to 1958; the hub or 'pilot' hole for '62-'63 rims is 2-7/16" in diameter. T-bird wheels had the centers welded to the rims with no vent holes from '58 through the ...

Re: 1965 Thunderbird Window Motor Replacement

Just curious why you want to replace all 4? If they are all out, then check the relay in the rear engine bay near the firewall.

Otherwise, you can send to John draxler at Thunderbird ranch to rebuild, get aftermarket reproductions, or I prefer to find on eBay.

Re: 1966 thunderbird tire size

So looking at a Coker tire bias ply 8.15x15:
It has a diameter of 27.72" for a circumference of 581"

Looking at a 225/75R15 Goodyear on Tire Rack:
It has a diameter of 28.3" which gives a circumference of 629"

You mean 58.1" / 62.9" for circumference, right?

Thank you for seeing my obvious ...

... Series
215/75R15 with 104T rating

These have the 1.3" wide whitewalls.
You'd have to go with the 225's to get the 1.6" whitewalls

I talked directly with Coker support, they specifically told me not to go with the 225 as mentioned in previous thread, they would rub against the skirts.

In this pic ...
