Re: 56 Timing pointer
You would think that the T-Bird suppliers would have the correct parts for sale. The pointer I bought was suppose to be for a 56 T-bird.

56 Timing pointer
I ordered a new timing pointer from National Parts Depot. The pointer covers the timing marks so you can't see where it is pointing. Which is wrong, the pointer or the pulley?

Re: Fuel Pump rebuild
So the pump rebuilders stamp the number on the side of the mounting flange and not Ford?

Re: Fuel Pump rebuild
They are both dual action pumps, only difference is the diameter of the bottom section, which is interchangeable with both main bodies. The pump arms are the same, only difference is the number stamped on the body and the diameter of the bottom part below the diaphragm.

Fuel Pump rebuild
I know it's been covered to death, but here is my issue. I have 2 fuel pumps, one has number 2413 stamped on it, and the other which came with my 56 bird has number 4206 stamped on it. The 4206 pump has the bigger bottom on it though they look like they would interchange as the body's are the same. ...

Re: Power Steering Lines
You can't just screw the 9/16" flair into the Ramas there is no seat for it. Just get a new brass fitting that has a 9/16" female flair on one end and match the ram end to your old 7/16" fitting.

Just find NOS condensers at swap meets or on eBay. The new ones are crap.

Re: Starting motor question
If you saw smoke coming from a battery post, you need to remove the cable and clean the battery post and the cable connection. That will cause the clicking symptom you had.

Then and Now in Business?
I wanted to get a fuel pump rebuild kit from Then and Now Automotive for my 56 Bird. Their phone goes to voicemail and the mail box is full, the email does not go through also. Are they still in business?
