Re: Cruise O Matic No reverse..All in....

This just happened to me! less than 250mi on rebuilt motor an transmission. I bought the car halfway through restoration so no receipt/warranty on rebuilt parts. No slippage, grinding or banging, just no Reverse! I can hear it spinning in reverse so suspect the rear band, but wondering if you ever f...

Re: Battery hold down help. Please

My new 27F battery didn't have the lip that the clamp grabs onto!

Ash Tray and Glove Box

Finishing up some details on my '61, but dealing with an ash tray that flips open whenever I hit the brakes.

I also seem to be missing the latch/lamp mechanisms in the glove box, anyone have pictures of an intact console's guts?

Many thanks!

I'm looking for one too, now that you're presumably done with your front end work, are you willing to sell?

Re: Fitting/adjusting rear quarter window

there's the way they did it at the factory, which is probably secured in the channel, then there's the way you can do it with so many pieces of aftermarket rubber in the way... I'm struggling a bit with the same issue and have found that Dry type Silicone lubricant helps everything slide a little ea...

Re: 1962 transmission bumper mounter center of firewall

Many of them seem to have never had this at all?

my 61 doesn't even have the triangulated braces at the front cross member.

I'd assume you wouldn't want it in contact with the drivetrain under normal circumstances, that would be loud inside the cabin.

That looks like a "universal" 4 Link kit.

We just need someone to engineer mounting brackets/Crossmember, arm length and axle brackets.

Re: Help with brake pressure - Only 500PSI to the front

Another option to rule out the PV2 is to order a "PV2 Bleed tool" from amazon and lock the PV2 in the center position.

Re: Help with brake pressure - Only 500PSI to the front

Does your master cylinder/kit have a GM PV2 safety valve, commonly thought to be a proportioning valve? It could be that the differential in volume from your front to rear circuit is tripping the valve and cutting pressure to the higher volume calipers. I ordered the "kits' for Master Cylinder ...

Elaborate on "will not go into a gear", does that mean it's stuck in Park?

Re: 1962 Roadster air conditioning questions

I have the Classic Auto Air kit in my 61, and most assuredly they have a kit that can be used in your '62. You're confusing them by asking for an "Under dash" kit, as those are tag on fully separate units. They sell an "IN DASH" kit that uses the factory center vents/defroster po...

Re: Hood release

On the 61 there is a center release flat bar just in front of the radiator. If you ever need to release the hood broken cable use a piece of wood 1/2'" wide 2 feet long with a V cut at one end to push in to release the hood in case the cable is non functional. The reason for the V cut in the w...

If it isn't going to shows for authenticity, wack the legs off of the seat. I'm a solid 6'4" but only a 34" inseam and I fit fine but your leg vs torso length may be different. Or Do the seat-back tilt like you and I have done all our adult lives in almost Any car. it might be blasphemy o...

this all makes me very nervous being 6'6" and having bought a roller with no interior. I'll have to get creative.
