Re: Flip Lid Alignment
Yes we have success !! : Thanks to Rusty & Orthodoc for your input regarding my poor fitting flip lid alignment to the quarter panel. My initial correction was to the deck lid alignment. Required me to remove the bumper to access the hinge adjustments for "fore & aft". The flip lid...

Re: Flip Lid Alignment
Hey Ken, do you have any pictures of your issue? Same as mine? Thanks. I overheated the deck lock motor from too many trial and error attempts while tweaking adjustments. Aggravation !!

Re: Flip Lid Alignment
Orthodoc, The area that the front of the flip lid rests on is a solid frame member behind the rear seat with only the rubber weather strip above it. I beleive you may be correct in looking at the hinges in relation to the flip panel. The deck lid and flip lid appear to move into the proper position ...

Re: Flip Lid Alignment
Your eye is correct. The left/ right alignment of the deck lid and flip panel are good. The deck will close and lock flush but the front of the flip lid almost appears to "lift" as the deck lid locks into place. Causing the uneven alignment with the quarter panel. I've tweaked the flip pan...

Flip Lid Alignment
I've spent numerous hours attempting to align the flip lid with the rear quarter panel. As you can see in the pictures I have not been successful. The best I can accomplish is not satisfactory to me. There's too much of a gap. I've re adjusted the hardware on the flip lid panel and the hinges and ca...

Re: 62 Electric Wiper Motor
Lets focus on the wiper motor. To my knowledge I don't believe a new or remanufactured wiper motor for the 62 exists. Perhaps you could reach out to one of the VTCI vendors. The picture of the wiper you attached will not work. The electrical system on the 62 is a 12 volt system. The Gas gauge and th...

Re: 62 Electric Wiper Motor
dash.jpg I've attached a good photo for your review. You can clearly see the wiper motor position and the wiper transmission arms. All the components are inside the passenger compartment. The only items under the cowl are the wiper arm pivots that the arm/blade attaches to. I would suggest you remo...

Re: Bucket Seat Skirt Replacement
Jim...Thanks for the tips. I'll take your advise with some extra hands and the tool selections. Just received the new shirts. Now I have to cut holes for the power seat switch. Not one but two on my car.

Bucket Seat Skirt Replacement
Looking for suggestions and technique to replace the seat skirts. Access to the roll pin is difficult with the skirt shield and hinge covers installed. I can barely see the roll pin. Thanks..........I don't really want to cut a slit in the new replacements.

Re: 62 Electric Wiper Motor
Bob Thanks for the wiper operation lesson. I've dealt with vacuum, hydraulic, and electric wipers but I haven't seen an electric switch operated by a mechanical cable. Now my issue is ........can I remove the wiper motor without removing the dash...?

62 Electric Wiper Motor
Evening.........I purchased this 62 vehicle with inoperable wipers and now I'm troubleshooting the system. I removed the speaker grill and speaker to view the motor. I only see one wire going into the motor, which has power with ignition on, and the cable attached under a cover, that does move when ...

Re: Concourse Clarification
As in our previous correspondence, I appreciate your knowledge and input to my questions. I've attached the pages that I was referring to. Your explanation makes sense as these vehicles are over half a century old and, as we all know, things (engines} don't always go as planned. My early 62 has a C6...

Concourse Clarification
Thank you VTCI for sending my 1961-1963 Original Factory Specifications Booklet. As I scrolled through the judge concourse section on engines I may have read it incorrectly. The booklet states that, if the data plate shows an original 390 cu in engine was installed in the vehicle that any year 390 b...

Re: Manually disconnecting deck lid cylinders
Thanks for the information. I was able to locate the bolts to remove. Yes , two on each side, one easy to view the other must be accessed through a hole in the rear frame.
Note the cut out area in the bumper for a reference location.
