Gas mileage
I have a 63 hardtop with a rebuilt stock trans and engine.I also put a Edelbrock 500 cfm that I had on my shelf that was almost new. I have never owned a big block before so I was wondering if 8 to 9 in town and 12 to 13 on the highway is normal. I live in northen Californa and gas is $5.73 a gal so...

trans leaking
Ijust had my 63 trans rebuilt. It doing everything it should do so no problem there. If i run it 2 to 3 times a week it doesnt leak. If it sits for 1 or 2 week it will leak. Some people have said that is normal. I donot remember that back in the day. Any ideas?

Thanks, got the plates confused. My wife looked at it too and it seems as if the date code is 20 C which would translate to March 20. Is that what you see too? Thanks for your help.

My number is 3Y83Z147799. I hope this helps because I think I may be reading it wrong. If they only made 45,000+ and I am at 47, I don't know what is going on. The door plate matches the fender number so it is what it is Thanks for your effort.

My date code for my 63 hardtop is Z06 . When I look at table 4 in my I.D. decoder manual it has Z is december of 2nd yr made . Does that mean it was made in 64? IT SHOWS 42806 63 2 doors made . Is that correct? Thanks for any help.

No on the threads. I did see on the electic motor that it said Bosch on it and had a ford logo on it also had 10 mm nuts . So maybe ford subed the mechanism out?.

I have been working on my interior of my 63 hardtop. I have notice that the nuts and bolts on the window mechanism and seats including the nuts holdimg the power window in place were metric. the motor had a made by ford logo on it and looked original. I have removed the rear seat and the quarter panel to provide access to my rear electric window motor that I need to replace. I was wondering if there was a way to remove the motor without removing all of the rear window mechanism and the window itself. I see no easy access to the motor itself. Am I...

I have a 63 hardtop and I need to remove the elect window switch on the rear right side . Can you remove the switch without removing the back seat and the rear panel? And if so how does it come off? Thanks
