Re: 1964 bird transmission

Jtschug, flexplate. Is equivalent of a flywheel if im not mistaken, and thank you for reassuring me the 428 c6 will work, im just curious about the 390 69. I believe I need a 184 tooth flexplate that can be found relatively simple. I believe the 428 is externally balanced so I'll have to make sure I...

Re: 1964 bird transmission

Thank you for your reply guys, I appreciate the responses. Sp If you were about to go between these 2 trans, which one would you choose? The one out of the 428 is about 300 more, since everything is crazy priced now a days, and I think they are both floor shift trans, arethesedeal breakers, I'd imag...

1964 bird transmission

Hello everyone. I have a stock 64 thunderbird, I am currently doing body repair and went a little overboard buying parts. (Pro flo4, ridetech suspension, etc) I was going to have the heads redone, fresh valve seats, and anything else recommended, but I thought maybe I should switch gears, go edlebro...

Re: baggin my 61

Can't wait to get into it. I had some extra cash laying around from when my truck was totalled so my wife encouraged me to put it into the bird

Re: baggin my 61

That's a great idea, right now I'm getting some body work done. When I get into the air ride and pro flo I'll grab some pictures and keep notes. I bought a holley sniper fuel pump to feed it. Going to use AN lines with ptfe, areomotive fuel pressure regulator. When I do get ready to put the pro flo ...

I am about to get started on this project myself. The tank, compressor, valves should be here today from ridetech. The bags came Tuesday. I am getting some body work done first, then I'm pulling the heads having them freshened up, putting the pro flo 4 on. I think when I pull the heads im going to s...
