Re: 1961 Cruise o matic dipstick length

I'll check the 10/31/62 car to see what it has for an indicator. I'm wondering if some jr engineer got it the document wrong. There is no logical reason to measure the indicator parameters from anywhere but the seal on the top of the indicator as the seal is as important as the indicator itself. So,...

Re: 1961 Cruise o matic dipstick length

1963 coupe. 11-02-62 build date. Measured from bottom of the cap/cover to the end of the stick. Pic is deceiving. It's exactly 20 inches. But Unrelated. This car and my 10/31/62 car have different brake sender electrical plug. One has old style, one has new. No splices, all original. Built two days ...

Re: Vacuum Line

Post a picture if you can. An Echlin Device Looked like a fuel filter. It was a late mid 70's attempt to get pre smog california cars to comply. It was a regulated vacuum leak and usually was spliced between a carb vacuum and the distributor vacuum. Unless it's gummed up, it should rattle when you s...

Re: '63 M-code coupe factory wheels

M code hadn't a thing to do with wheels. Three choices. Wheel covers. Deluxe wheel covers. Kelsey wires. (Possibly a 4th...maybe a delete was possible....) Buy the gate release and invoice/window sticker. How do you know it's an m code? My car is in the registry and it's not original.... And I have ...

Re: correct color for the engine compartment

That's a great response to a 14 year old thread. :drinking:
There's a modified section in this forum for people who won't do it correctly.

But, your valuable response above is in the
Be correct or be gone
Section.

Re: ROTUNDRA TACHOMETER REPAIR HELP

I have a tach that uses the same cup. I've had it apart enough to replace something(I don't remember what). I'll try for disassembly pics this week.

Re: Concours Judging 1963 M Convertible that looks like Roadster

I've gone as far as to shave the 'tubeless' from my tires on my Kelsey's. No one cares but me. My cokers drive just fine. Don't let anyone sway you with their bias-ply bias.... I have considered shortening a steering column instead of your seat/steering wheel route. I think it would be easier than s...

Re: Concours Judging 1963 M Convertible that looks like Roadster

There is no bad. They allowed a 63 false m code with a only the center carb working and aftermarket chrome under the hood to get a top honor of (I think, Alan can correct me) SENIOR at the last meet. Go, have a good time, and get a trophy. My past SENIOR, a long time ago, is a standard 10/31/62 buil...

Re: 1963 Rear suspension rebuild

These are correct.
Pics and info are courtesy of Mr Wulf.

My shock are soon to be engraved with this correct stamping.

Repo shocks are available. I'll get a picture of the part #if you're interested.
Springs are $6ish.

I can't think of a reason to go half-way onshocks after all the other work....

Did you buy the shocks with the flared cover tube and the correct rock guards for the shocks?

Re: Stock trim?

So,
Can the assumptions be made;
If the dashes/dash mounting holes are missing on a 62 the trim is NOT factory installed(since the factory wouldn't have skipped this step)
If the dashes are there, it is factory OR conscientious dealer installed.
