Re: Oil Leak on Exhaust

Hi Bill, thanks for your reply. I'll check however, the engine was removed completely by the previous owner to eliminate oil leaks on his drive.
The top end was dismantled & the heads removed, hence I'm thinking its steering or gearbox oil.
Any other thoughts would be appreciated.

Oil Leak on Exhaust

Hi guys, I have noticed oil leaks on many 61-66 Tbirds in a particular location. They are on the left -drivers side where the exhaust comes down from the exhaust manifold & flattens out. As with most of our cars, they are left standing for periods of time. On my 62 smoke appears from this area o...

Re: Convertible Deck Lid will not drop

I think you are confusing the fault disconnecting & changing things. Put this back as they should be & was then start again. Then take a look & check around. Most issues are bad or loose connections at the relays or plugs & sockets & the 15a breakers. The clip should be connected...

Re: Road Draft Tube & PCV set up

Thanks Alan I was thinking along those lines but was curious what was missing/changed at the manifold to connect the Road Draft.
I've started searching for the parts for a correct Ford set-up as in Jims photos which is the same as my 64.
Again I thank you all for your help.

Re: Road Draft Tube & PCV set up

Thanks for your replies. The modification was carried out before I bought the car. Unfortunately a lot of T-birds get modified or parts disconnected by mechanics not understanding these complicated cars or altering things that will do the job in a similar manner. In this case he got it wrong. I have...

Re: Road Draft Tube & PCV set up

Hi Jim thanks for your reply Images show The set-up with the brass T . A closer image of the pcv valve connected in the rear of the inlet manifold. The Road Draft tube. Not sure how it was connected to the manifold as the tube is 1" & the spigot 1/2" Lastly the Carb spacer with the un ...

Road Draft Tube & PCV set up

My 62 Roadster originally had a Road Draft tube (still in place) & a incorrectly set-up PCV system as follows- From the very rear of the inlet manifold connection is a 1" long rubber hose with PCV valve fitted with the threaded nut end pointing down ! At the other end of the pcv is a 8"...

Re: Flame Thower Coil upgrade

Hi Bill, its difficult to get anywhere near the ignition switch/wiring due to the large shroud holding the fuse block at the bottom of the air vent. Can I assume the other end is the pink wire at the bulkhead connector or did you run a new wire after disconnecting the wire from the switch? T-birds a...

Flame Thower Coil upgrade

There seems to be a lot of threads on this upgrade but its not clear how to connect it. As an electrical engineer I thought I'd mention what I did to check it. I still haven't found the pink resitive wire connectors (to disconnect it) but have found the pink wire from the bulkhead by the pedals. My ...

Re: hood latch access?

Hi are you sure you put the catches back in correctly. You can put them in wrong so that the drivers side in on the passenger side & the passenger side is on the drivers side. This means that you have release them forward not towards the back of the car as you would by pulling the lever. Peterpe...

Exhaust System

Any one recomend a good supplier, of a correct Aluminised Exhaust system in the USA.
Needs shipping to the Uk tho........! I have new rear mufflers, so just need all the pipes.

I'll try again but don't have much luck or confidence on getting one made up in the UK.

Re: Tire Pressure / Rear Lamp lenses

Hi Robert it just puzzled me on the question of was it just a Ford assembly to just fit the lenses.
I'll set the pressure to around that figure.
Thanks

Tire Pressure / Rear Lamp lenses

I have a 1962 Sports Roadster with original Kelsey wire wheels. What pressure should I be running with Radials Tires- 225 75 14 ? Also I have noticed mainly 62's, as its easier to see than 63 cars, the 4 rear lamp lense are screwed in in different orientations & even have a different pattern eit...

Re: 1963 turn signal flasher location

Here you go Alan, a couple of images from my 62 Roadster. The reason for removing it was a faulty flasher, it stayed on & didn't flash. I replaced it with spare ones I had for my 64. However these were after market plastic cased units but they, (2 of them) flashed for 30 secs & packed up. Th...
