Re: Road Draft Tube & PCV set up
Hello, it looks like you have mounted the PCV valve the wrong way, I think 20080526(001).jpg it should be mounted with the rough part down towards the intake crankcase ventilation, and the threaded part towards the intake vacuum port. Attached is a picture of my 1963 T-bird engine with original PCV ...

Re: Carb identification
As Karl writes,Inside the date clock should be the venturi size, which I believe is 1.12" on a 63 Thunderbird .
Whereas the 62 and 61 have 1.08" from what I understand.

Re: MYSTERY TAG ID?
Hi, it's not a tag, it's a bras spring plate with sharp corners that should ground against the hood when it's closed.
I think it's to not disturb the radio, maybe? or to counteract static electricity.

Re: Mirror location
Hi Marks, when I fitted the right mirror on my 63 SR I had to fit it as far forward as possible to be able to see anything at all in it. I bought it from Bird Nest. I am trying to attach a picture with measurements on it. Good luck. Lennart Sahlin / Sweden

Hi, today I take some pics of my homade tools that I post her. Re: Steering gear box
Hi, Aurenice, I think that you need to adjust the valve spool adjuster, it sits in the front of the steering wheel behind a threaded plug. see the chop manual chapter 7. 3. be careful it is very sensitive. It can be done in the car, but is very difficult to access.and you may need some special tools...

Wire weel problem, who hasent experienced it?
In my search for good quality inner tubes for my 63 Thunderbird SR that has reproduced spoke wheels with American Classic 215/75 - 14 Radial tires, I found this website in England, which seems to have what I'm looking for. They also have innerliners for the rims, which I have not seen anyone else of...

Re: convertible top problem
My 63 SR with new convertible pump takes about 1 minute to fold up and 1 minute for top down, give and take 2 - 5 sec. so your result seems pretty OK what I understand. Here's a link to my movie on the sequence.

Re: Air pressure in Wireweels and Radials
Thanks for your quick response, 35 psi equals 2.4bar, it's just a little more than I've had so far, so I'll try to increase a little up to 2.4 bar / 35 psi as soon as summer comes, but yesterday we got 6 "(15 cm) of snow here, so summer is going to take a while longer
Best regards. Lennart

Air pressure in Wireweels and Radials
Hi everyone, I have a question for anyone who has wireweels with radial tires on their Thunderbird. How much air pressure should you have in the tires, (American Classic 215/75 -14 with inner tubes), it is a Thunderbird 63 SR.
Thanks. Lennart Sahlin / Sweden

Re: Radial Inner Tubes - Factory Wire Wheels
Thanks for the nice pictures Mr Tast, now I see that you have taped all the way to the outer edge where the tire sits, and it seems to have worked for you,Good to know. I allways thought it would be too thick with the tape there, but it seems to have worked for you what I can understand. Thanks / Le...
