Re: Drivers Seat Mount Location

I don't want to remove the the sliding column even if I am to close. I would be interested in an "add on" tilt mechanism for the wheel itself. I doubt if there is such a thing. I agree with you though. Moving the seat back a couple of inches should work fine.

Re: Drivers Seat Mount Location

I got my car out of the shop on Friday. It had a couple of oil leaks so I had those fixed too. Hopefully I will pull the driver seat tomorrow and do some cleaning and lube. I can then determine where to put the holes. I don’t think I want to move them more than 2 inches back. If that doesn’t do it I...

Re: Cleaning Trunk Liner

As far as I know mine is original. It is not torn up, just dirty. I do plan to use the mild carpet cleaner. I should be able to test clean some areas that overlap.

Re: Cleaning Trunk Liner

I put the car in the shop to have the AC fixed and the mechanic found a couple of oil leaks too. I am hoping to get it back this evening, but more than likely it will be Monday or Tuesday. All my liners or laying in the trunk for now. I am thinking of something like Simple Green spray on for the car...

Re: Drivers Seat Mount Location

AC is needed almost all year long here in Florida. It didn’t take much driving to know I wanted it fixed. My driver seat is electric and passenger is manual. I don’t plan to mess with the passenger seat unless moving the driver seat makes it look weird. The thing that will make it look weird is when...

Re: Drivers Seat Mount Location

I had a 1965 Thunderbird around 1969 or 1970 and did not notice any problem with the seat adjust. Now there is a problem with the amount of room. I wonder if it has anything to do with gaining 100 lbs? I have my car in the shop now to have the ac looked at to hopefully have it fixed. When I get it b...

Re: Drivers Seat Mount Location

That is what my original thought was. I understand the “spacer” idea and it makes sense especially if you are not drilling into the channel area someone described earlier. How far back from the original mounting hole did you drill and did you drill the same diameter hole as the original? I am 6’, bu...

Re: Drivers Seat Mount Location

With the seat farther back on a rail or drilled through the floor maybe the seat belt would fit better around my big ole gutt.

Re: Drivers Seat Mount Location

I don’t know if I would ever try it, but I do believe it would work and would not cost more than maybe a new drill bit. The length of the stud or bolt would answer that question. Thanks

Re: Drivers Seat Mount Location

My thought was drilling new holes in the actual floor of the car, not the rails. Any thoughts on that? Bad idea?

Drivers Seat Mount Location

I would like to know if anyone has moved the drivers seat back by drilling new mount holes? Would there be carpet appearance problems maybe? I searched and did not find any info. I am somewhat round and would like a little more room. My thought is have the seat fully forward then remount it 2 or 3 i...

Re: My 66 T Bird

Thanks for all the replies. It is an "N" code for the paint. The body is 63C, color is N, trim is 21. I have no idea why the top is black, but it is thin and worn through in some areas. I originally thought it may have had the vinyl top at one time, but not according to the code. The body ...

Re: My 66 T Bird

I have never seen that happen before. Probably because of this apple device I use. It was a gift, because I would never have bought it myself. Thanks wife.
