I would venture a guess that your repair most likely fixed an intermittent problem that you were not aware of. Just spitballing here, but it sounds as if someone installed a latching relay in the Ignition circuit, although I have no idea why someone would do that. Some LR circuits are designed to shut off a few minutes after power is removed; have you waited a few minutes to see if they go off on their own? ...
