Re: Vandalism

I would just park under motel lights, preferably where you can see the car at night. My cover takes up half of the trunk! Luggage space is too small already! Lots of T-Birds here in Florida, I wouldn't worry about vandalism or theft. Just lock it!

Re: Carburetor selection

I removed a Carter/Edelbrock 725 cfm and replaced it with a new Holley 0-8007 390 cfm with electric choke on my 57 312. Starts and runs great. Be careful with an Edelbrock, mine would not clear the hood with the original air cleaner so the PO had installed a small ugly aftermarket air cleaner. OEM a...

Re: Air Cleaner Hood Clearance

My 57 also had a Carter on it and a small ugly air cleaner which made hood clearance OK. The Carter started and ran ok, but at 625 cfm it was too rich for responsive driving. After much jury rigging and clearance testing, I ordered and installed a new Holley 0-8007. (390 CFM, electric choke) This ca...

Re: T-Bird Delivered Last Evening

My 57 has Coker radials. When I first drove it, I felt power steering was needed, but the tires were at 26 lbs. After reading Gil's Garage, I increased the tire pressure to 35 lbs. Big difference! Check your tire pressure.

Re: Reverse or Flip Rear Shackles

Icon 56, sounds like I should consider air shocks. What brand/model number did you use and where did you get them? I may take you on your offer to look at your car.

Reverse or Flip Rear Shackles

Hello, I am a new 57 owner and have a question about rear shackles. My 57 is apparently at the factory height of 24" at the middle of the rear tail lights. But it seems low to me. Former owner mentioned that the rear shackles could be reversed or "flipped" adding 2" or so at the rear taillights to i...
