Problem with driver's window. (1955)
My driver's window goes up about 2/3 up and stops. I was going to just replace the regulator, but I see they're over $100 (I'm used to Mustang parts prices) Has anyone had this problem? Could it just be the spring? I haven't even taken the panel off yet, but, I figured I'd go in with some guesses fi...

Thanks for the explanation.
I just figured it was a positive wire.

Trying to understand the horns.
I have determined it's the contact wire/button, NOT the relay that is the problem. I will be ordering a new wire very soon. I want to understand, what is it that makes the circuit complete to make the horn sound? It's a single wire, right? I just don't "get" how the metal under the ring to...

Re: Mystery wire white w/ red stripe
Thanks, Chris.
I will have to look for where it plugs in.
It's definitely the OIL light

Mystery wire white w/ red stripe
I pulled this wire off accidently when I was changing the wires. It comes off the loom that has the RED wire (to coil) and the RED w/WHITE stripe that goes up top to what is probably the TEMP gauge sender unit. I'm guessing this wire is for the OIL light. It's much longer and goes underneath. But WH...

Re: Which points do I need for my '55?
Thanks for your input, guys.
I went back and showed the guy.
I had to pick up the replacement down the road.
I can't explain why I received the wrong part twice.
But now I know what to look for next time I need to buy points.
I take this experience as an opportunity to learn something.

Re: Which points do I need for my '55?
I just did an online search, for 1955 Thunderbird points.
Here is what I get.
https://postimg.cc/Z9fcS8M2
It looks exactly like what I have, but the orientation seems to be completely opposite.

Re: Which points do I need for my '55?
That's exactly what I mean by that.
The last set of points I bought, are just like the picture, but reversed. I'm returning them tomorrow.

Which points do I need for my '55?
I went to Pep Boys; they gave me points with no anchor hole at the bottom, just the slide-adjustment hole on the top. Then I went to Advance Auto, they gave me points that are a mirror-image of what's in the car. Obviously, something was changed somewhere and I'm asking for the "wrong" poi...

I just installed the lens.
I lit it up in the dark, it looks great.
I really thought the frosted glass would hinder the brightness.

1955 License plate light lens.
I just got my license plate lights to work (trying to make sure I pass the NYS inspection next month) I noticed the lens appears to be etched. Is this how it should be? Or is it like this because its over 60 years old? It seems this will impair the lights to fully shine on the plate. Should it be cl...

I'm sure there's something to it, but, isn't the cooling of the engine the radiator's job?

Re: '55 Runs rough at highway speeds
Thanks for the info, Bob. You've given me a lot to check into. Some of the info might be different because my car was converted to 12V I had owned 4 Mustangs in the past, all with a 1bbl Carter carb, so I didn't even know what to check on this "big boy" carb. I'm in Cape Cod right now, but...
