Left side brake light is intermittent 64
The left side brake light is intermittent on my 64. I have cleaned all the ground wires in the trunk and brass sockets in the tail lights. I have checked and cleaned the wire connectors in the trunk area. All the other lights and R/S brake lights work well. Are there any other likely culprits, where...

Neutral safety switch 64
I have struggled with the NSS switch on my 64 for long enough. I replaced it with a new switch and things are not any better. My steering column is rebuilt with a new bushing and the indicator is in the correct position. The detent plate is new and the linkage is secure at the trans. Pushing the g...

Trans early shift
My 64 shifts out of first gear early. Leaving the stop sign under light throttle it will shift out of first within 2-4'. Under moderate throttle it will shift within 6'. If I mash her down good the trans will stay in first for a reasonable amount of time. I have used all the adjustment allowed in th...

Fuel overflowing gas cap.
I filled the tank on my 64 a 1/2 mile from home and a few hours later gas was leaking from the cap. I took the cap off and about 3 cups of gas came spilling out. The cap looks original and is stamped vented. I put a new Summit fuel pump on 6 months ago. The outside air temperature did not go up and ...

Horn contact question
I rebuilt the steering column on my 64 and now the horn does not work right. If I run a ground from the turn signal stalk to the contact (spring thingy) the horn sounds. The contact is clean and seems to extend about as far as it can.I cleaned the race on the back of the steering wheel tighten down ...

Thanks Jim Wulf and others that offered to help! That has to be the least expensive repair on this car yet.

This is not my carb but the part looks the same. I am not sure how to post a picture so I will try a link to my One Drive acct.

Fast idle/ choke unloader broke
The small plastic part that functions as the fast idle and choke unloader is broke on my 4100 Autolite carb. Now the fast idle function will not work. Any idea where I can get one? Our local classic car carb rebuilder told me they are no longer available.
Thanks!

The MotorTrend channel will burn a few hours while waiting on parts. Detent and alignment issue
I changed the detent and shifter as suggested by others on my 64. I was able to get into park once but it didn't feel quite right and the indicator was off. The shifter seems smooth but now it won't enter park so where to go now?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Re: Shifter roll pin wont budge
I am going to follow the advice of Steve and Terry. It's time to put my mask on and head to the parts store for a steering wheel puller. More questions to follow I am sure!
The journey continues.
