Re: P.C.M. Replacement

I've never bought a pcm in the past, so I searched the internet over and came up with Flagship 1, in New York......I picked them from others because pcm's was their only business, they been doing this for over 15 years, offered lifetime warranty and bragged about their customer service, which I cont...

P.C.M. Replacement

For the couple weeks I've been getting some weirdo DTC codes out of the blue, getting some that I should'nt and not getting some that I should.... Long story short, I just got back a refurbished pcm yesterday from N.Y. and installed it this morning, I've only drove on it about 10 miles, I want to dr...

Re: “Floaty” Steering and Bad Brakes

@WildWill, I just did the rack in my SVO about 5 years ago, it's not an awful job, a time consuming one and the only touchie part is threading back in those, I believe 4 lines, back in, but mine just sailed back into new rack no problem...... yea, that friend I knew back when that had the '85 regatt...

Re: “Floaty” Steering and Bad Brakes

I'm not sure how you swap p.s. fluid but I just use a turkey baster sucking out at resevior, on mine, I only can get out about 10 oz.'s, but I swap that fluid every 2 years, I firmly believe that will keep a rack alive in the long run, so your rack was changed back in '01, IMO, we better get swappin...

Re: “Floaty” Steering and Bad Brakes

AS for the steering, has the fluid ever been changed in the P. S. unit, if the rack's going, this will not help, if the rack is o.k., start changing the p.s. fluid every year or two, this will try to keep rack alive.......now, wandering around in your lane at highway speed sounds like a issue with i...

Re: C.C.R.M. Replacement

*UPDATE* Relay module has been installed, it's very easy to get to with lower section of air filter box out of the way.......I have started my Bird several times now with no issue, but now will be the real test, I'll let her sit for a couple days, which if I still have an issue, will probably show u...

C.C.R.M. Replacement

Fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump replacement did not correct my random no-start condition but I can sure tell that my Bird likes the new walbro pump and new walker regulator because when it wants to start, it starts a little quicker and a little bolder for sure..... I'll be installing a new $97...

Fuel Pump Replacement

Recently I've been having a inter-mitten no-start condition, I did some fuel pressure tests a few months ago and was not quite happy with what I was seeing, on the low side across the board, so it looks like a $40. press regulator that I had replaced was not my problem but I could tell that my motor...

Fuel Pressure Regulator Replacement

I just found out recently that a Motorcraft fuel pressure regulator for my 4.6L Bird does not exist anymore while trying to locate one. I started to develop a no start situation twice about a month ago, that's when I found out about the absence of Motorcraft fuel pressure reg's....Wow, Ford put that...

Re: ¿No idea?

The easy part first, when you said ya got ripped off, a broken terminal, I'm guessing a broken battery terminal, $3. for a new cable end, I'm guessing this is what most people do OR swap out the entire battery cable which could cost up to $70. for a whole new cable, which winds in every nook and cra...
