Re: C.C.R.M. Replacement

*UPDATE* Relay module has been installed, it's very easy to get to with lower section of air filter box out of the way.......I have started my Bird several times now with no issue, but now will be the real test, I'll let her sit for a couple days, which if I still have an issue, will probably show u...

C.C.R.M. Replacement

Fuel pressure regulator and fuel pump replacement did not correct my random no-start condition but I can sure tell that my Bird likes the new walbro pump and new walker regulator because when it wants to start, it starts a little quicker and a little bolder for sure..... I'll be installing a new $97...

Fuel Pump Replacement

Recently I've been having a inter-mitten no-start condition, I did some fuel pressure tests a few months ago and was not quite happy with what I was seeing, on the low side across the board, so it looks like a $40. press regulator that I had replaced was not my problem but I could tell that my motor...

Fuel Pressure Regulator Replacement

I just found out recently that a Motorcraft fuel pressure regulator for my 4.6L Bird does not exist anymore while trying to locate one. I started to develop a no start situation twice about a month ago, that's when I found out about the absence of Motorcraft fuel pressure reg's....Wow, Ford put that...

Re: ¿No idea?

The easy part first, when you said ya got ripped off, a broken terminal, I'm guessing a broken battery terminal, $3. for a new cable end, I'm guessing this is what most people do OR swap out the entire battery cable which could cost up to $70. for a whole new cable, which winds in every nook and cra...

Re: Downstream O2 Sensor Replacement

**CORRECTION** That's 26 m.p.g. on 87 octane non ethanol NOT 28........Currently I've been running 90 octane non-ethanol the last couple of tanks (been wanting to stay between 90 and 91 octane, my Bird seems to like this rating the best) and just recorded 29 m.p.g. on a short 100 mile trip I made ye...

Re: Downstream O2 Sensor Replacement

**UPDATE** My 4.6 is running super, it has a great exhaust tone at highway speed....Got my m.p.g. back, highway mileage is as follows, cruising at 60 m.p.h., 28 on 87 non-ethanol, 30 on 93 non-ethanol, compared to 24.5 on a good day, with a tail wind, using Shell 92 ethanol(grain alcohol) and this i...

Re: pcv location on a '97

What's the latest on your issue ?? off the road and back in the driveway I hope, But I've never heard of AC going down first then the car dies and will not restart...you mentioned checking fuses, give them under the hood fuses a real good look AND the only other thing I can think of off hand that wo...

Re: Antenna Fender Finishing Bezel

Over 2100 views, wow, I did'nt think a antenna bezel post would be so interesting, you would'nt even mess with that bezel unless your swapping out your power antenna assy. and I'm pretty sure that power antenna assy. is a tough creature to find nowadays(certainly in Motorcraft or Ford Service form) ...

Re: Downstream O2 Sensor Replacement

**Update** When you get a DTC 141 or 161, get on it, my 4.6L loves that new downstream O2 on the pass. side... I can tell a difference, I got my nice smooth idle back, my normal mileage and back to that sweet tone at highway speed... I run with those codes for about a month before I could get to tha...

Re: Downstream O2 Sensor Replacement

Thanks Alan, that's why I post all that I do to my T-bird, I know there's a lot of people out there that would have trouble changing a spark and that's not a problem...But to me knowledge is power in the auto world and for the last 50 years I've always wanted people to enjoy their Ford's as much as ...
