Yours does look like a '61-'64 small Midland booster - I have a rebuilt one in my '64 MY. If replacing your booster with the same style is still an option for you, Bird Nest now sells new reproductions of it (but maybe you're already aware of this). Hi - I had the same problem when I replaced the front drums on my '64. I found some Tapco long-barrel studs at Thunderbird Headquarters that worked well. The part (sku) number is B1107A. The dimensions of the lugs are 1/2"- 20 X 1-11/16". Good luck!
