Re: 1963 Rear suspension rebuild

I think I got all my parts for that same project from Bird Nest (except for the u-bolts). Oh, I got the springs from KC General Spring. When I took everything apart, I realized that new u-bolts would be a good idea, so I had a local truck parts supplier bend my up a set based on an old one I took in...

Re: Top suspension arm - identify left & right

I went back to my forum comments (on various forums) from 2019 when I was dealing with my cross-caster problem, and you're right, Karl. The Hollander manual does label a different part number for each side, but I'm still not sure why. They looked exactly the same when I lined them up. For the OP, I ...

Re: Top suspension arm - identify left & right

I had wonky caster settings from side to side on my car when I bought it as well, so I did a lot of research about the upper arms as I scratched my head over that one. From what I could find, and from my staring at them side by side on the garage floor, they are identical and interchangeable. It's b...

It could also be leaking from the power valve underneath the front float bowl. Either way, you should put a kit in it. Good luck!

Re: 1962 Coupe Convertible rear wheel height

Here's how mine sits. I replaced the rear springs when I bought it, but the front springs are original (as far as I can tell). It looks like yours sits a little high front and back. Is it possible that the shackles are flipped in the rear? They should be swung above the bracket rather than below; I ...

This is the only one I have, right before I sent it in for rebuilding.

This is all that was on the back of the booster on my '63.

I got some from one of the main suppliers, either Bird Nest or Thunderbird Headquarters (can't remember).

Squeaking rear seat???

Strange question here...the rear seat of my '63 squeaks or groans where it meets the quarter trim panel. It looks like a tight fit in there. Has anyone else had this *not really* problem? Did you figure out any way to handle it? I'm used to squeaks and groans from old cars, but in a quiet car like a...

Have you tried adjusting the band? The details are in your service manual.

That's correct, Cliff (just reinforcing your memory)...there's no need to remove the seats or the entire console.

Re: My Tbird is going to Long Island

That is a beautiful car, Bob! Glad to see it went to a good home. The '63 has long been my favorite 'Bird, but the '65 is a close second, especially in Ivy Green or Emberglo. Congratulations!
