Re: Drip rail and vinyl top

As stated, yes they belong . Bit of advice I will give you from the tops I’ve put on. Let that thing sit out in the sun it will get those wrinkles out and make things a lot easier. I laid them on got them where I was happy with the seams alignment then folded it in half sprayed my glue on roof and t...

Re: Emergency brake

It should be vacuum release, if it’s not running or no longer functioning as intended look on the pedal arm up towards the top as there will be a small manual release lever. Now if your brakes are stuck on I would start spraying the cables with some PB Blaster or other rust penetrating spray.

Re: drivers side mirror

I’ll update when I hear more as I would prefer a matched set for 70 on my 70 also.

Re: right side mirror for 71

The person on the Facebook group is getting much closer to a finished product, but I believe it would only be up thru 70. What I found is the mirror changed in 71. What I ended up doing was buying a drivers side mirror assy for a 71 so it would match what’s on my passenger side. 142A915D-2114-49B4-8...

I have a mirror head here from a 72 and it looks just like it, it’s my guess that a...

Re: drivers side mirror

Just received my drivers side 71 mirror. It appears at the moment to be a match to my passenger side. I will see in the next day or so if I get a chance to swap it. If for some reason it isn’t the same I will let you know and if you haven’t found one I would offer it to you first, it has the remote ...

Re: drivers side mirror

What year are you looking for?

Just found your other post so I see it’s a 71. I just purchased a 71 driver side mirror assy to use on my 70 as it matches my passenger side. I used car-part.com, you can search junk yards all thru the country. Everyone I contacted thru eBay they were already gone.

Re: right side mirror for 71

There was one on my 70 when I bought it, it’s not factory for sure, it is electric and honestly to me it looks very similar to the mirror that was on my 76. I’m pretty sure the mirror changed from 70 to 71 so not sure what your mirror looks like but here is the only picture I have which shows both, ...

Re: parchment paint

Stubbie, your seat pic looks in the pic to be parchment. The other pics look to be a variation of white. We restored a handful of 65 Special Landaus here and to get enough parchment dye I bought a spray can of it from one of the t bird parts houses and then went to my local paint guy and had him mix...

Motors are readily available thru tbird parts suppliers and local parts stores. Are you sure you need motors and not just the gears repaired?

Re: Repairing '65 T-Bird clock

I like the idea that if it’s in the car it needs to work. Not that I don’t have multiple ways to tell time between watch, phone, etc. but I get some silly gratification from seeing it work. I sent my clock to a clock repair guy for my 65 and paid dearly to have it fixed. Not sure if auto clocks are ...

Re: Lower shift bushing

I found the old write up I had from Nicks T Birds for replacing the lower bushing without removing the column. It’s been many years since I’ve changed one but I think I was able to do it without removing the hinge.

Re: Lower shift bushing

Never seen that white ring before. Yes that’s where the bushing goes and the notch on the bushing does go in there. You can split the bushing thru the notch and save yourself some hassle with the install. I may still have some tech tips on the install, let me look thru my old books and see, if so I’...

This really sounds like one or both of your hinges let go. If the pivots have pulled thru as it sounds they are going to bind.

Re: Hood Springs

Oh, I didn’t read it as a latch problem. He experienced every result you would when a hood hinge let’s go so I assumed that. From his avatar it appears to be a 66 so the latch is all that holds it shut so if that was what broke can’t imagine why he can’t open it now.
