Re: 1965 Convertible Top Question
Typically what Ive seen on several different birds is that the upper panel (boot) tends to drift away from it retracted position. If this is out of positiion this is were all motion stops in the top down sequence. You have to understand that the tops logic is a sequential motion. There are typically...

Re: Front Upper Impact Bar (Bumper)
Fyi If you just need clearence the two supports have two bolts to mount at frame. If you remove the more forward bolts you can pivot the whole bumper grill assembly to the ground. Of course you may have to loosen the rear bolts and support it with a floor jack and then lower it all to blocks of wood...

Re: Power Steering Gear Box
I used a palce in Columbus Oh called Steer and Gear i have a 1965 and had them modify the gear box to get rid of the pinky steering. Its worked great for over a year no problems if he has a core for a 1964 you can do a swap on your core so turn arround time is minimal. Talk to Carmen there prices ar...

Re: Front shock lower mounting bracket nuts - threads
Correction that is RCD and I believe they are called the classic line and it may have been a joint venture between Bilstein and RCD for this line of classics they ave been on for a few years and very satisfied with the ride.

Re: Front shock lower mounting bracket nuts - threads
I replaced mine with bilstein shocks front and rear and with the front lower mounts i replaced them both from the birds nest $20. A piece.all hardware is included well worth the price since you have to press them in and out they tend to be in need replacement. Ie Bilstein no longer sells them but th...

And have someone turn on accesories headlghts , brakes etc. while monitoring I've updated my alternator to on my 65 convertible and my car also sat in a bard for 40 years and ...

You can use the underside of the hood where there is a punch hole exactly where you fasten the ornament. Just find center of this hole to transfer your thru hole.

Re: doors fit other years
Not so sure about that i believe the oddball doors would be the 1964. I replaced the drivers door on my 65 convertible with one from a 66 landau of course the glass is different but had no alignment issues at all. If memory serves me correctly i think the 66 hardware mounting (bolts to pillars and d...
