Re: Cruising RPMs?

Update- I can't tell its shifting 3 gears at all. In L it certainly is low. Both green dot and white dot shift the same. The car feels like a 2 speed oh well, Rpms at 55mph is about 2000. Good enough for me. Thanks guys.

Cruising RPMs?

What rpms are you all seeing when running at about 55mph? I want to determine if mine is not shifting to 3rd. I feel only 1 shift when taking off in green dot mode. 1963

Re: Power Steering Fluid

Could you be more specific with checking the hydraulics at the box? I've performed the air bleed as the manual says numerous times with no success. I dont see any bubble in the pump but it still cranks itself all the way left on it's own. I even ran the wipers continual. The only thing left that I c...

Re: Power Steering Fluid

Just fired mine up tonight after putting new seals in the steering gearbox. I need some advice or reassurance from you guys. The pump and box was dry, I added fluid and fired it up, the steering wheel cranked all the way to the left on it's own. I fought it back all the way to the right then back le...

Re: Serious Setback, cracked new exhaust manifold

Persistence has paid off. Pry bars, skinny arms, and a helper got them all off. Only 1 snapped bolt that I have to figure out how to get out and the discovery of a completely broken manifold on the passenger side. Now a search for a new one or a good welder.

Re: Serious Setback, cracked new exhaust manifold

Thank you guys for your input. I've been able to get top bolts out already with little difficulty. I spend more time just trying to acces the 3 tabs. I've pulled hoses, removed the steering gearbox unbolted engine mounts and jacked it up and over on the side. It's slow and frustrating. I'll stay opt...

Re: Serious Setback, cracked new exhaust manifold

How about advice in how to access the bolts so one can bend or break off? Any unique tools or reaching devices to access the bolts at odd angles and obstructions?

Re: Serious Setback, cracked new exhaust manifold

Thanks for all the response here guys. I bought the repro pair a couple years ago so no chance of refund now.. My '63 should use the donut flange yes but here in the UK the flat flange exhausts are pretty much the only option, so I went with this: http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&i...

Re: Weatherproofing and the weatherstrip from hell

If you're not a purest and do some modifications you can acquire a set of mustang coupe roof rails and make them work fairly well for way lower cost. I paid less than $20 on ebay for a set.

Re: Turn Signals

Not to change the subject but, I noticed when I turn on my headlights the front running lights turn off. The turn signal feature is still fully operational but just no amber running lights. Is this normal for our cars? My guess is it is normal to lessen the amount of draw through the headlight switc...

Re: Diabolical interior trim clips!

Flat head screwdriver just wide enough that you can spread them open so the points are at the narrowest position. Then slide them to their respective hole, start them in the hole, remove screwdriver and give them a smack with your palm to send them home. Start at one end of the trim piece so they la...
