Brake booster leak at end cap

Hey team, got a decent fluid leak at the 1 3/4” end cap of the brake booster when the pedal is depressed. Recently rebuilt with a kit from casco so new copper gasket. No fluid leaks at the master or anywhere else like the brake bolt block and the vacuum seems in tact. Any recommendations other than ...

Re: Windshield Washer Pedal Placement

Thanks Joe! I contorted myself up under the steering wheel and found that exact punch out you mentioned. Thanks a ton for the help. And that was probably the easiest part of the job. I wish I would have taken the extra time to remove the seat. Hand threading the nuts and hoses onto the jets under th...

Windshield Washer Pedal Placement

Hey team, Any consensus on where the washer pump pedal goes underneath the dash in relationship to the high beam switch before I start arbitrarily drilling holes in the firewall? I’d prefer not to puncture the carpet if its not necessary. This was the only feedback I could find on a google image sea...

Re: Placing your t-bird on a car lift

Not to divert course too much but does anyone have a four post that they put the tbird up on for storage? I know the 2 post is great for working underneath but would like the option to store it and park another car underneath. Wondering if the four post precludes you from working underneath in some ...

Brake Booster Upgrade...Dot 3/4 or Dot 5

Hi everyone, I’m about to do a brake booster upgrade for our 1957 driver that has always had manual brakes. Mama needs a bit more stopping power to get her out of the garage with more regularity and I wanted to keep drums. I got a decent deal on a booster and master cylinder from someone doing their...

Re: 1957 Distributor / Vacuum Advance Positioning Question

Thanks for the quick and lengthy reply, no offense taken. Definitely a weekend mechanic and relatively new to the Tbird so I'll take all the hand holding that's necessary, this is all in line with my initial thought process. I appreciate you filling the gaps in the shop manual. Need to decide if the...

1957 Distributor / Vacuum Advance Positioning Question

Hey guys, my vacuum line from the distributor to the carb is a simple rubber hose and I decided to upgrade it to pre-bent steel. When I went to install the line I realized that it did not line up correctly at the distributor and that the whole distributor had been rotated forward towards the front d...
