Hard Top Weather Stripping
I got a 1957 hard top weather stripping kit without installation instructions. I got it second hand and don't know where it came from. So any tips and maybe a copy of instruction for me to look over before I get involved would sure help. Also, my garage is un-heated; will that have any effect on the...

Re: 56 TBird Power brake inop
Sounds like your Power vacuum booster isn't working. I have the same problem with my recently purchased 57. It sat for a long time and the brake fluid turned to jelly. If it's a brake hose you'd be getting brake fluid dripping on your garage floor. On my car it was determined to be the brake booster...

Re: 57 Values today
I did a quick Hagerty's price check on my D Code 1957 and it was $34,500. Actually I've got my 2018 Infiniti Q50 and my 57 T-Bird through USAA and my 1930 Chrysler Series 70 Roadster through Hagerty's.

Re: Four wheel disc brake questions
I recently had it done; power 4 wheel disc brakes. My brother-in-laws has driven it a bit. He said at first, it was real tight and touchy when stopping. However, the more he drove it the better the brakes were. Battery was relocated to trunk to allow for power brake unit under the hood. I don't have...

Re: Millennial bought a classic (55)
Yummy, you got a deal on this car because the majority of your generation aren't interested in cars much, not like past generations. Classic T-Birds are real bargains now. I got one in near perfect condition with recent overhaul of engine & trans for $21,000. In early December I bought a Colonia...

Re: Windows loose when lowering or raising.
I saw something in a catalog, either Larry's or COSCO, for what was called "Cats Whiskers." It was thin metal strips to reduce the noise and vibration of the window glass when driving.

Oh yes, I will definitely keep the original stuff like the old cracked 18" steering wheel.

Re: Power brakes Disc brakes and Power Steering Addon
I'm going with a power 4 wheel disc brake kit from Thunderbird Brake Parts. A CASCO Improved Handling Kit. 15" Steering wheel painted red and, as required by law in my state, a LED license plate light. Plus the usual replace worn rubber and insulation parts. Radio and clock for another time The...

Recondition a 1957 convetible top frame
Is it possible for me, an average guy with average garage tools, to restore a convertible top frame? I recently bought a very original looking (37,206 miles 1957, original except for an obvious engine and trans overhaul) without a convertible top. It is obvious it never had one, just the hardtop. I ...

Re: T-Bird Delivered Last Evening
Daddio and Wife. Thanks for the information on power steering. I took the car out today to get some gas and I agree, I don't need the power steering. Hey it's not an MG or Mini Cooper. You guys saved me some money. The power disc brakes are a different matter. Now that I've got everyone's attention ...

T-Bird Delivered Last Evening
Got my 1957 T-Bird last evening in the middle of a cold wind storm. Love at first sight. Way back in the "old'en days I had a turquoise 55 rusted Michigan bird with no hardtop. Loved it though but had to sell it when I got orders for Vietnam. This car is great and with only 37,261 miles. I mean...

Power brakes Disc brakes and Power Steering Addon
What would you folks recommend as the best power brake kit to conversion to disc brakes? Also, what would be the best power steering kit? I have a white 1957 D type with out PS & PB.

Re: Number of babybirds for sale
I noticed 10 pages of just 1957 birds for sale at Hemmings. I've been a T-Bird 'wanna be" owner for many years and recently took the plunge. Part of my "lurking" was checking out all of the usual online haunts for a good bargain. I've never seen so many for sale. Usually you see a sur...

Re: Just Ran Across this Ad
Sorry to have offended you. I thought any classic T-Bird with only 4500 miles would be a rare find. I will remove the offending post if you like.
