Accu-Form Door Panel and Dash

Hi Folks, Has anyone tried this for repairing cracked molded arm rest (one integrated into panel - not screw in on earlier 62's)? If so, how did it work and can you send picture. Re: tbirdgarage.com not working

Jim, I agree with others that your site was a good resource... thank you for that. You are a great wealth of knowledge. The website can be seen on Archive.org Wayback Machine (minus album pics and some items not captured). There were several captures over past few years that may be available for a p...

tbirdgarage.com not working

Hi Jim,

tbirdgarage.com is not working. It gets 'account suspended' message. I tried to PM you but the PM message seems to be stuck in my outbox.

Thanks,
Rob

Re: Radio

Hi Karl, I saw on one of the car club boards that some were using some of these 'digital media players' like the Dual XDM17BT (see manual at https://www.dualav.com/s/XDM17BT_dual_manual-p8st.zip ) to make budget glove box or thin custom builds. Some use to make garage radio / bluetooth streaming ste...

Re: Steering Wheel/Column Moves Up and Down after Steering Gearbox Replaced

Hi Folks, Updating to close this out. Tranny is rebuilt and works great. Rebuilt steering gearbox too. Turns out the up and down movement problem on steering wheel was the lower steering column bushing. They put in a bushing and its working normally now. Took them a little bit, but with info and ste...

Suspicious E-mail

This email I received looks very sketchy like a spammer got ahold of their account... maybe so, maybe not. I will notify thunderbirdnest.com but beware: We here at thunderbirdnest.com are so proud of our recent work, and we’d like to thank you for being a part of our community. However, our mission ...

Re: Steering Wheel/Column Moves Up and Down after Steering Gearbox Replaced

Thanks ICON 1956 and stubbie. Yes, it is at the top of the column.

Cliff, agreed. The shop has a good reputation and has worked on friends old cars. I am just trying to help them with tips from the forum as the swing away was something they never seen.

Steering Wheel/Column Moves Up and Down after Steering Gearbox Replaced

Hi Folks, I have a 62 SR late July 1962 production. The repair shop replaced the steering gear box with a rebuilt (which has the same part number). When I went to test drive in the lot, the steering column moved left to right as normal... and could steer right and left. BUT it had about a 1/2" ...

Re: 1962 T-bird single to dual master cylinder

Fairly comprehensive guide including sizes and pic of NAPA ones http://napabrakes.ca/wp-content/uploads/2016/08/2014-napa_master-cylinder-IDguide.pdf that shows pic, port sizes, etc. For M2056 see page 80 for specs. Mine arrived today and is a flat top. Thread sizes slightly different than original ...

Re: 1962 Replace Brake Lines and Clips

5/16 it is. To the point about the kit, I am looking at InlineTube.com 6pc kit: 1962 Ford Thunderbird Power Drum Brake Line Kit 6pc, OE Steel SKU: FUB6201 . On my previous Bird I used them for a new gas tank and fuel line and they did a good job then. As Jim and Alan mentioned, this is a full set pr...

1962 Replace Brake Lines and Clips

I am planning for replacing existing steel fuel and brake lines on my 4 wheel drum setup. In the shop manual it shows that the fuel line is 5/16" outer diameter. But manual does not show diameter of the brake lines. I am buying pre-bent kits and want to make sure I get the right clip set for th...
