Nothing like new carpet! Can't wait to do mine, but always wondered how to accurately cut the slot for the gas pedal (and hi/low beam switch). Yours looks great.

Re: Proportioning valve '65

I am trying to remove the prop valve on my 65. Having a really hard time trying to get to it. Any advise?? I’m sure I’ll have to remove the master cyl. (It’s empty anyway) I really don’t want to remove the power steering hose as I just replaced the fluid. Please advise when you can I was able to ch...

1966 deluxe wheel cover color

Has anyone found a good (accurate) paint for the center section of the 1966 deluxe wheel covers? I'm referring to the medium-dark gray that is under the "spinners". It seems to be a flat or maybe satin finish. Thanks.

Re: Tires

When I got the car 5 years ago there was a slow air leak from one of the tires. I thought it was from the spokes in the wire wheels. Brought it to a local wheel expert and he resealed the inside where the spokes insert. Since starting this post, I’ve now noticed lower air in one of the tires a mont...

Re: Questions about the Fasten Seat Belt light on console

It wouldn't make sense for the passenger seat to have a switch, as there would have to be a sensor to know if someone was sitting in the passenger seat.

I would never mount a shoulder harness like that. It's way too low - not even at shoulder level.

I've had good luck finding owner's manuals on ebay.

Re: Seat Brackets

Why not just get new seat foam and covers for your original seats? It would be simpler and probably cheaper overall than trying to fit the Mustang or some other seats. All the big Tbird vendors carry the upholstery.

Jim, congrads. on fixing the leak. On my 66 the filler tube for the trans. is just pushed in then bolted to the back of the motor , at the bottom of the filler tube is a place for an O-ring, this is where my problem with the leak. I found the method of sealing the filler tube as they had done at th...

It looks like the steering shaft & rag joint aren't on the car. Were they ever? Maybe they're the wrong parts?

You should create a new post for your question. It probably won't be seen in this thread.

Re: Who has a 3.25:1 gear ratio axle and a tach in their car?

My rpm's may be a little higher than jtschug's at those speeds because I have a non-original 390 in my car. It's a 2bbl unit, and nominally makes about 10% less horsepower than the Thunderbird engine. The 2 barrel engine wouldn't affect your rpms at a given speed - that is determined by gearing, no...

Re: 66 PS Pump - Hose Retaining Band-Clamp on Neck

Scott - yes, I spent some time last night digging for the pump info as it was gnawing on me, when I should have been trying to finish up a rather lengthy article on distributor recurving for the next issue of the Scoop . I'll be paying the price for that soon enough...and eventually this info will ...

Re: Heat/defrost plastic scratches?

The faceplate is just a clear thin piece of plastic that covers the letters, so you won't damage the letters by polishing. The one on my 1965 convertible was yellow and looked awful. I found that you can actually replace that faceplate fairly easily, and you don't even have to remove the control uni...
