Re: Flip Lid Alignment

I was looking at mine again and thinking about this. I stand corrected and don’t believe the hinges for the flip lid have a hard stop. I would try adjusting the flip lid erect limit switch to begin the deck lid lower cycle with the flip lid slightly less than fully deployed. This may allow it to snu...

Re: Flip Lid Alignment

To my knowledge, the area that the front of the flip lid rests on is a welded frame and the vertical position is not adjustable. My other concern would be if your hinges on the flip lid are allowing it to over extend slightly. This would cause the lid buckle up towards the front when the actual deck...

Re: Flip Lid Alignment

Tough to tell from the photos but is the issue more that the panel won’t fully seat rather than left to right alignment? It appears to me the deck lid and or the flip panel is not fully seated with the screw mechanism. Have you adjusted the deck lid limit switch a touch to see if this makes a differ...

Re: Radial Inner Tubes - Factory Wire Wheels

Awesome! Thank you. I think I’m going to go with the Coker American Classics unless others don’t think the difference in appearance as compared to the Hankooks is worth it.

Re: Radial Inner Tubes - Factory Wire Wheels

I am in the process of getting new tires for my 63 with original KH wires. I have tried clicking the link for the 3M tape used as a liner here but the link has expired and I don’t see it listed anywhere other than “liner tape.” Does anyone have an updated link or 3M number for the product? Not havin...

Re: CONVERTIBLE TOP CYCLE TIME

My 63 is similar at right around 1 minute. That is with all new cylinders, pump and lines last year.

Re: Package tray install

Update to this: I have adjusted the top up limit switch to allow just a bit more travel prior to cutting off the top rams. This has helped the fit of the package tray as well as the top frame sitting all the way down on the car body. Interesting problem now… When deploying the top the package tray n...

Re: Package tray install

I have been pondering this some more and am wondering if the top is simply not fully “deployed” and the top up limit switch on the frame needs to be adjusted so the rams deploy just a touch further before cutting out and beginning the deck lower cycle. I don’t want to cause more problems but this is...

Re: Package tray install

I have installed my frame and package tray. Everything works. Nothing was adjusted as far as the frame when it was welded. As best I could tell when painting the frame and assembling everything, they did a great job welding the main supports on the frame. Very straight. I’m puzzled by my malalignmen...

Re: Package tray install

Thanks for you input Jim. I’ve never put it back in so wasn’t sure. I’ll just assemble it prior to installing in the car

Package tray install

I had a mishap where a family member was driving my car and fractured the aluminum top frame just in front of the package tray (see prior post). I have the frame out, welded up, had the package tray repaired of some dents and repainted. My question…. I took the frame and package tray out of the car ...

Re: Constant voltage regulator?

There is a post on this somewhere, but if you do want to keep originality you can open up one of the original metal CVR cases and add a semiconductor step down like this. I did this and soldered it to the original terminals. The case acts as a heat sink. I have running this type of setup about 8 yea...

Vinyl top removal… frame damage

I have been in contact with several of you guys privately about this and greatly appreciate the help this far, however wanted to poll the group with a few questions. My situation is that my father was driving my 63 convertible and the top was not latched and thus lifted about 12” up front. This snap...

Re: gauge cluster and turn signals

The temp and fuel gauge are electronic and powered by a constant voltage regulator that is usually behind the clock. This should supply 5V I believe. If the temp and fuel gauge are both out, there is likely an issue with the voltage input. The turn signals would be a different issue. There is a fuse...
