I live in Illinois suburb of Chicago, We do get some freezing cold winters my garage is not heated. I would start the car once a month to keep the fluids going. My car came equipped with Pertronix ignition I never had a problem starting.

I had a 61, My suggestion think about installing a pertronix ignition system to help in starting. That is what I had. I did help ...

Here's a photo of my jack that came with my car, This is the refurbished that came with my car. The base has AJ-C on the base and a A on the other side... Hope this helps.

I totally agree with 55blacktie, Having been riding my Harley across Canada and the out West. Which I have experience in riding in cold and wet trips. I'll take the Baby Bird hands down.

Congrats and Welcome to the forum. I can not express this so please understand when you have a vehicle over 60 years. I too, also would welcome you. I did own a 1961 hard top T Bird, Then I sold it for my dream T Bird 1956. Sage Green. Sorry I did not want to hi jack this forum page... Ask away any questions... BTW Alan is the guru when it comes to knowing every bit of fact on the Thunderbirds.....

I would only say that adding a thicker swag bar can help cornering around the turns. I don't think it would help in a better smoother ride just stabilize the car in turning.......

Like I have posted, have a hydraulic jack to support the frame (not the bumper) to change the tire if needed. Plus I do carry a few spare tools to make it easier to remove the hub cap and a socket lug nut wrench. My main concern is to change the tire as quickly as I can and then to have it repaired ...

When I store my car over the winter months I use a plain car cover, But I also use the softener sheets with the aroma smell that keeps the mice away.
