Re: An Introduction

You might consider joining the local branch region of VTCI that covers your area of BC. For years I lived in Ontario and joined the Southern Ontario Thunderbird Club (SOTC). Local members can be a great help, now and in the future.

Re: Activating Lever only

I have a 1966 and I bought a new shift lever last year from one of the T-Bird parts vendors listed on this site. Think I paid about $110 for it. Not sure what it cost to have it installed but it wasn't complicated.

Re: Facebook purchase…….not going well

After you documented your contacts with the seller and BBB try the State Attorney Generals Office. That office usually also deals with Consumer Protection. Over many years I have had a few issues with autos. Always got results after filing a complaint with a State Attorney Generals Office. Sounds li...

Re: Lost Title VIN question

When you finally get your title proof read everything as along the line someone can make a 'typo' on the paperwork. I bought my 1966 from a dealer in NC ten years ago and Exported it to Canada where I was living, no paperwork issues. Only issue was the truck load of autos went missing for two weeks ...

1966 color productions

Searching for a source link to find out production figure for my optioned 1966 T-Bird conv. I have the original invoice, build sheet, and window sticker. I know the factory order went through Chicago, and my Bird delivered to Dallas. How my convertible was ordered was a little unique so that is why ...

Re: 1966 Intake Manifold

As best I understand the stock 390 manifold has a crack. What years of the 390 manifold (mine is a 1966) can work with my engine? Previous owner had the 390 rebuilt 20 years ago, less than 2,000 miles from now. I bought the car with about 1,000 miles on the rebuild nine years ago. The car always see...

1966 Intake Manifold

I have been told my 1966 T-Bird conv. w / a 390, needs a replacement Intake Manifold w/ gaskets. I am lame when it comes to engines but good at finding parts. Is a replacement Manifold with new gaskets hard to find for a 1966, 390 engine? I do not even know what this part is but my Bird is in limbo ...

Re: 1966 Bird right side hood hinge

I know this is an old thread but hopefully my 1966 conv. will be going into a shop in the next month to deal with small issues I did not address ten months ago (takes months on a waiting list to get the car into a reputable shop). Reviewing 100s of on-line 1966 T-Bird pics I found this issue occurs ...

Re: 64 Restoration

Want to say Rose Beige has become one of my favorite Bird colors. Back in 1963 my parents bought a new Heritage Burgundy w / pearl beige interior. Then next door neighbor bought a Rose Beige w / white interior 1964 Bird. I will always remember that Rose Beige color when it was new.

Re: 64 Restoration

I know about that shift lever issue, part only costs about $100 and easy to install. Had my 1966 conv. at a quality detail shop last year. The gear slipped and my my Bird went into the side of a $200,000 Porsche. No damage to my Bird (I was just sending the front bumper to be re-chromed anyway), sad...

1966 front seatbelt buckle

I have a 1966 Bird conv. and the front passenger seatbelt buckle is hard to slide / adjust / sticks with adjustments. Most likely not used in 30+ years. Is there a Fast way to loosen it up with WD-40 or something like that? Reason: Recently I drove in an auto club charity cruise to retirement commun...

Re: 65-66 Steering box

Try Pat Wilson's Thunderbird Parts. I purchased one from them and recently sent back my core which they will service and sell when completed. Perhaps you can reserve it.

Re: Best Floor Mats 1963 sports roadster

Montrose, Only my opinion but it you have color matching skirts, keep them. Removing the stud's that align the skirts is simple and replacement stud's available from vendors. Gives you future options, with or without skirts. I have a 1966 conv. that came from the factory without skirt option (fender...

Re: an interesting window modification from Craigslist

Alan, you are not outspoken. As a retired designer & design educator myself the proportions of the 'C' pillar glass insert does not flow with the roof shape. I had to see how the glass insert affected the interior upholstery pattern on he 'C' pillar. Sorry I did that as some images can not be un...
