It worked great. That paint gives the correct 'dimpled' finish.

The annoying part? The transmission was totally rebuilt and reinstalled only a year ago. All new seals/bands etc.

I suspect the torque converter is draining back into the pan, causing the level to be too high. The balancer marks on a T Bird pulley will not move due to the insulator wearing out. That only happens on passenger car pulleys. One thing to note is that often the timing points have moved on the pulley so don't assume they are correct. The rubber breaks down and allows them to rotate a little.
