Re: Highway Pilot System
In the process of troubleshooting so it will work. All components are there. I need a new or used sensor pump as mine leaks fluid. Does anybody have one available? Manual is very detailed and helpful. There is a mystery connector that has nothing to hook up to. When I found it, it was all taped up ...

Re: 1966 Ammeter shunt wiring. Too much shunt
Looks like a good junction block to me, under that paint might be the date code on the wire, looks original, pretty rare to see if so. I wouldn't touch it if it's reading properly on a multimeter.

Re: Remove exhaust manifolds with engine in?
Unsure, I don't see a part number on the balancer or pulley unless it's on the front face under the pulley. The balancer has a single groove on the metal outside the rubber bonding ring, a poor deisgn that was eventually done away with as it accelerates wear on the balancer. The second groove is a ...

Re: Remove exhaust manifolds with engine in?
Another update, getting closer. Rattle canned the engine bay black for simplicity sake. A couple spots I didn't clean and prep well enough but good enough for a driver. I can touch up if needed. Decided against body color due to logistics. Next fun will be brakes. I suspect the booster won't fit wi...

Re: Ford 390 Cylinder Compression issue
Hi all, Sorry been a little busy. And going on a short trip so will be gone for a few days. Anyways I know its crazy, but I won an auction for a used Edelbrock 1406. I gave it a quick clean. (should have rebuilt it) But the car starts and runs great with this carb! I was very pleased. Idle is aroun...

Re: Ford 390 Cylinder Compression issue
You should be pulling a near constant 20 in P and at least 15 in D, fluctuation indicates a vacuum leak.Tinkeringrob wrote: ↑Wed Jun 08, 2022 2:41 pm Hi Dakota, its a little jumpy. Last I tried in Drive it was fluctuating between about 10-12.
And GRNTHNDR, thanks ill spend a little time this weekend hopefully on it.
Thanks!

Re: Ford 390 Cylinder Compression issue
I'm in southern California. Los Angeles area. And yes it's running points. Yes Cliff, I agree. I like the getting back to basics thought.. Gonna get my spacer back under the carb with a new gasket and try to rid myself of all vacuum leaks first. Brake booster is currently connected. But I have trie...

Re: 66 C6 Pull - a couple questions
A C6 has a single piece aluminum bell housing and gearbox. If your transmission has a bell housing bolted to an iron gearbox, you might have an MX, not a C6 transmission. If the leak is coming from the front edge of the oil pan, sometimes snugging up the bolts a little bit can make that go away. It...

66 C6 Pull - a couple questions
For you fellows with more experience than I. I have a pretty bad ATF leak coming from the bell housing, it starts up worse when the car is on. I jacked her up to take a look, and saw the flex plate is completely dry. The cooler lines aren't leaking, and fluid is definitely coming in from the base of...

Re: 65 Temp gauge sender test bad but not?
You can absolutely trust the gauges, as long as they're in proper working order. If you found your wiring and cooling system to be in order, then I would suggest finding another NOS gauge. That was the final piece of the puzzle for me, and I've been running for years with a good read. It sits on or ...

Re: In search of 19" radiator California car 1966 who sells this size?
All I can seem to find is the standard 17 and 1/2 in radiator core. I've come to find out that a California car 1966 had a 19-in radiator core and it has become very difficult to find. Anyone have this trouble and what did you do? Or any sellers out there. Thank you!!! Jen https://www.parts123.com/...

Re: Sequential Tail Lights
My sequencer worked but was slow and loud. All the relays had failed as well... Corrosion and broken windings. I considered the $250 solid state units. Sure it would be nice to have a drop in magic box that works, but my sequencer motor worked and nothing seemed physically damaged so I figured I'd ...

Re: 1964 Water Temp Sensor & Gauge Problem?
Hi Guys....Currently my gauge is not reading correctly. When engine is at operating temp, the gauge only reads at about one quarter of the scale [ needle just touches the "T"], instead of at least half way. Sensor problem?? My temp gauge now sits right on/ just after the T when warm. I ju...

So sorry to hear. That bird was a work of art. Above all else, be happy you're alive to tell the tale.
