Re: 66 stop relay mystery

Probably both faulty. Someone swapped original over because it was faulty. Easy to test relay - just need to locate the 2 contacts which click when current is applied. Then leave them connected and test the other 2 with an ohmmeter - should read 0 when current is on and infinity when it's off. Any ...

66 stop relay mystery

I opened up my sequential pack today, as I have no brake lights. I've rewired the entire dash/new stoplight switch, and gone through every other check. The brake lights were already having flickering issues, which led me to the trunk. First off, there seems to be a replacement relay (from 1967) on t...

He said vacuum orna-metal in Michigan, quick google search pulled this up. Should be a match. The auto work looks promising!

I believe that's a rear speaker harness. Do you have a front and rear speaker?

Radio wiring help needed

Here's the setup. I found a working radio to drop in my '66, but the color coding is different on the wires(And I'm wiring in a non-oem front speaker). This is a '64 radio IIRC, but it should work all the same. I just need help here figuring out the +/- on these wires. If somebody could double-check...

Horn Wiring at Wheel

Hey everybody, quick question: I have the wheel/column off the car currently, getting ready to slap everything back together. I noticed upon removal of the horn, that the wires were hanging loose, so I didn't take a reference photo. Does anybody have a photo of how these wires screw into the wheel? ...

Re: Adjusting a Wilwood Proportioning Valve?

About half-way for me as well. I just did it in my alley, some various hard brake tests to dial it in, until I felt comfortable with the response.

Intake manifold

My intake manifold cracked, and I am looking at replacement. It seems that the forum consensus is that an edelbrock 2105 is a good, mod-free option? I would love to have dealt with this with more money, time, and the motor out, but she’s the daily. Feel free to chime in! Also, is there any other top...

Re: Car will not stay running

What I would do: Warm up the car, then plug a vacuum gauge to the carb, and check your pressure. In park, and in drive. You need someone to be in the car to shift for you, unless you have a long enough hose to put the gauge in the car. If you're not pulling 18-20 Hg in park, your timing is definitel...

Re: Values of the 4th Gen in your area

Keep an eye on local postings, and eBay. These cars seem to be slowly, but consistently, gaining value. Find the one that speaks to you most(let the car find you), and you’ll be happiest. As said before, you will learn that these cars are amazing, complex, and expensive all at once. The more you end...

Re: Carburetor thoughts - rebuild or replace

I had troubles with my 1966 autolite. rebuilt twice. still wasn't great. If you know someone who's an expert with old carbs, have it rebuilt. Otherwise get a Holly 600. My car now starts easily and hasn't given me any issues. Which model did you get? I think he's referring to the Holley 4160 600 CF...

Re: Need advice ( transmission question )

Vacuum related? Maybe the transmission modulator, on top of some other vacuum leaks? Those are my initial thoughts.
