It's hard to help where non-original wiring is involved. I'd check the relay you've added. Be sure the relay is hooked up for normally open. Thanks mate, I appreciate it, but it IS original wiring...with the exception of the bypass wire i ran to trigger the solenoid...via the relay which i added......

Thanks...i did buy a new one but have not put it on yet...the one on the car is original as far as i can tell...its very old at least...how it all started was i was driving and pulled over to have a smoke...got back in and click..nothing...this lasted about half hour and whilst waiting for the roads...

hey guys...i need to get to the main harness plug to check if it is burnt..wiring problems...damn thing cranks all by itself whenever you turn the ignition on and place it in P or N..new neutral safety switch....ive read here the inner gaurd needs removing...can this be done without taking the outer...

Thanks guys...BoaterBob...yep correct side mate David...ignition switch is fine...looks so good i suspect its nowhere near as old as the car...and it tests out all ok with an ohmmeter in operation....the other suggestion i will head and try straight after breakfast...will get back to yas...thanks ag...

hey all...had a wiring fault recently...long story short...replaced some dodgy wires...New NSS...rewired feed to ign switch...switch to NSS...NSS to new relay...new relay triggers starter relay(to avert volt drop)... The problem I have now is that when the ignition is on...and I place the car in par...

Hey guys...my 64 ammeter makes me nervous... i have a 66 one i want to replace it with...where would i splice it into the circuit and with the old one do i just join the in and out cables together to continue the circuit( and make safe of course)...many thanks for any help

Thanks for the advice guys...Bugger me!...I didn't realize it all came in bits and had to be stuck together. In Australia there isn't a lot of option for people to fit them as convertibles never really appeared here much outside of imported exotics, whereas you stateside guys had them all over the p...

Yes I searched :)...my top is looking a little sad...all the hydraulics and electrics were replaced by a PO right before I bought it but they didn't do the top...why? anyway.. Is it a job someone can do in their garage or is it far too complex and requiring special tools...as always, all help apprec...

I suspect he installed the wrong starer motor? On one of the initial cranks I heard the fan blade scrape the radiator. That never happened before and it hasn't happened again. I can see the the fresh metal on the radiator. Never heard of THAT happening before...the fan is a long way from the starte...

I got caught by an out of adjustment shift lever/neutral safety switch too...didn't fix it yet...I just know how to make it work...and am happy nobody else can start my bird ...nor get the top up or down haha
