57 Continental kit
Talking to my local parts supplier yesterday and he asked if I wanted to buy a 57 Continental Kit (from Continental Enterprises. Not sure if it has ever been fitted as he said the owner changed their mind. I think he said it was white. He was down to $AUD 1000 but likely to be negotiable as not many...

Re: No Brake Pedal
thanks Paul, Mine seems in good condition so all good there. I was just checking if the spacer setup on the third was unique and if it would impact the brake guy rebuilding the MC. I don't know what kit they use but suspect it will be a standard 1 inch Ford kit perhaps they will reuse the same pisto...

Re: No Brake Pedal
well thanks Ward57 and Jim, I replaced the switch with a plug and that brought the pedal back up - probably similar to before. However you had convinced me to continue on to the MC, as soon as I pulled the rubber boot off and fluid leaked out I knew you were right! So off to get the MC rebuilt and p...

Re: tire pressure for 57 t-bird bias tires
the bias look radials from American Classic are a very good upgrade, much safer.

Re: No Brake Pedal
ok, that seems to make sense. I will plug the pressure switch hole and rebuild the master to cover all bases. It could so easily have been a major disaster instead of a minor one so it makes sense to be confident of the the system.

Re: No Brake Pedal
Thanks again for the advice. I will start with the pressure switch as I can see a leak there now. I will plug it and work towards m/c if I can find a bolt. I believe it us 1/8 NPT.
Then gotta do some paint repair and chrome on front corner as in my panic to grab the handbrake, I clipped my hoist

Re: No Brake Pedal
Thanks for the thoughts. I will bypass the booster before trying to drive it on the road and probably before reversing doen my drive again! After a few hours I decided to take a look it seems like it might be leaking from the old hydraulic brake switch. It seems to have been a recent thing as the br...

No Brake Pedal
Well, not a good start to the day. My garage is on the top of a very sharp drive, started backing out off my parking hoist and brake pedal went to the floor! A fair bit of panic as i grabbed at the handbrake and tried to pump the pedal, must have grabbed the steering wheel at the same time and bounc...

Re: Replacement VIN Tag
I initially ordered the decal from Casco and was high fiving myself about how good it looked. I think I posted a photo in a thread here. As soon at the heat got to it (making an assumption here) the new decal seems to have slided off the dataplate. So I ordered one from Mardi, very happy including t...

Re: Graphene/Ceramic coating
Don't know the going rates in the US but probably cheaper than downunder. The cost down here comes somewhere close to $1500-2000. But it depends on how much buffing and polishing they deem necessary/are willing to do to improve the paint finish before they coat the vehicle. When I pulled the car out...

Re: Original 57 Bronze Carpet Sample Needed
NPD advertise as having a Bronze color that does look more as Mark describes and their site claims that they have it in stock so might be worth a call. https://www.npdlink.com/product/carpet- ... 741/220622

Re: Original 57 Bronze Carpet Sample Needed
There is a seller on Ebay advertising the bronze carpet with the bronze part number. It looks red in the photos so I pinged him and he said it was more of a Burgandy colour than Red but said this is what was sold as Bronze in our cars. No idea of the accuracy of his statement but if interested https...

Sometimes your day just turns out great!
We recently had our second most important Supercars Series (Camaro v Mustang now) race down here in Australia- the Sandown 500. The car club that was the annointed club for the meeting put out a request for 50+ yr old convertibles to participate in the drivers parade before the big race. I submitted...
