Re: Some more AC issues
Sorry for muddle up. The AC guy tested and purged the system with nitrogen, everything looked good, said the high and low side balanced and no leaks. He removed the nitrogen and then we put in a new dryer, after that he put in the proper amount of R12.

Some more AC issues
Didn't want to jump the thread but since there are some AC guys on my problem is the air works great for one or two min and then blows outside air. Had an AC guy charge the system correctly with R12. He tested it with nitrogen and the system balances and looks like it should work fine. After one or ...

Re: Carb cleaner
Good if you are working on carbs a lot but was looking more of a one time use thing. Pine-sol $4.95. And the place smells really nice.

Carb cleaner
Overhauling a carb and was looking for a carb cleaner that you could dip all the carb parts in once it's disassembled. Nobody seems to have anything that works that is not too expensive. Everything is so watered down today. (Thanks, California and Wallmart). This may not be news to some of you but O...

Re: Squeaking noise in upper control arm.
I believe the mileage to be 48000 the car sat in Arizona for around 25 years. The squeak is on one side. The shaft is in the center of the cap nut. The car has zero rust.

Re: Squeaking noise in upper control arm.
All good points and they should be replaced at some time. I did check for any play and there is none. I think there was just a dry spot on the treads and grabbing some grease from somewhere else fixed it. No matter how much grease you pack into something the only thing that counts is the grease betw...

Re: Squeaking noise in upper control arm.
On some models they greased them at the factory and then put plugs in them. If you have enough room you can remove them and put grease fittings in them.

Squeaking noise in upper control arm.
Just a FYI. Had a squeaking noise in upper control arm. There is no grease fittings on the two nuts that hold the shaft in so I was going to remove and grease, or replace them. That is a fairly big job that I don't have time for, so I loosened both nuts off about two turns and retighten them. That r...

Re: 65 wiring redo SOS
I probably replaced all the harness that you need to be replacing. All under dash and all under the hood. We sent the old harness to Narragansett Reproductions (wish they would get a different name, to hard to spell.) They came back as they would have been in 1964 everything is exactly as it would h...

Bought from Classic car exhaust systems. Fit was very good. We got the entire system with resonators.

If you buy coolant that has to be mixed use distilled water.

Another paint question
When sanding surface rust on a panel there is always tiny pits. I don't think you can get it 100% perfect. Looking to spray it with DP50
