Re: 61-63 Disc Brake Conversion

I have been working on this ACC conversation kit for several years now without success. I recently came across the Wright up done by Allan and Dave. Great information by the way. It mentions to install pad spacers. My kit from ACC didn't not have those spacers. I have been fighting this battle for ...

Help with brake pressure - Only 500PSI to the front

Hey folks - been a long time. I actually sold my '63 Thunderbird to my Uncle, and so I've not have much reason to come visit you all, but he's having issues with the brakes and I'm trying to help. As you probably don't remember, lol, Bigbrownpilot and I used the Auto City classic kit and wrote up a ...

Driver's side manual seat track mechanism.

Hello all - Its been a while, and I've decided to sell my Thunderbird - to my Uncle....so hey, chance I'll inherit it back, lol...but I digress... I'm looking for a manual seat rail mechanism for the driver's side. I modified mine to lower the seat and push it back a little (I'm 6'1, wanted some mor...

Re: tilt away column

Well, I resolved the issue and retained the stock mounting mechanism and ability to adjust forward an back. Essentially, I drilled the rivets out of the four mounting brackets that attach the slider rails to the seat, then, using plate steel, made 4 L-shaped brackets approximately 5 inches long. I b...

Re: tilt away column

Hi all - Sort of reviving this thread a bit - between the stiffness of the new foam and the seat position, I'm essentially unwilling to drive my T-Bird at all, I've even considered selling it, even after all the work I put into it. The seat is too high, and while I did get more tilt out of it by shi...

Looks Amazing Treozen, Did you heat the material before stretching it over the foam? And if yes How? Also if you are able to disclose, what did the preformed foam and vinyl seats cost? Thanks. I did, and the sun was my heat source, mostly. I also used a heat gun, on low, and of course you need to b...

Hey - So on the 9" booster, you want to use a single diaphragm unit. Dual Diaphragm units are usually longer and have a visible step-down from back to front. Example single diaphragm 9" unit: http://ts3.mm.bing.net/th?id=HN.608039353494995361&w=200&h=186&c=7&rs=1&pid=1....

Seats covers - old versus new.

Hi all- its been a while but I finally found time to get down to redoing the seats. As you may or may not remember, I had a heck of a time getting seats covers from some of the usual suppliers, to the point that I canceled the order and contacted Original Auto interiors - slightly more expensive - s...

I'm curious as to what MC you used - that would be my first question, and bench-bleeding is pretty important ( though I noticed at least one of the MCs from T-Bird headquarters tells you NOT to bench bleed - never seen that before). Other thoughts: Did you install a residual pressure valve? Are you ...

Also the ledge on the door panel next to the window where you hang your arm out when you're cruising will fade from your arm rubbing on it if it's vinyl dyed as that is also a high traffic area. John Agreed - but unavoidable. The door panels are new, came in black, but it was a dull semi-sheen - no...

did you spray everything? or is that new carpet and seat covers. The dash, console, rear panels and package try were dyed / sprayed. Carpet is new, seat covers also new (don't have them on yet). Door panels are new as well (came in black) but the color was off and they were relatively dull, so I ga...

I used EZ-Cool on mine.
Looks awesome and good insulation.

That stuff looks pretty cool - pardon the pun. I would have used it on the floors had I seen it a few months earlier.

LOL....loop or pile.....only requirement was black, everything else, optional.

Yes, I do need to clean up the trunk lid........though probably not with carpet :-)

@72fetter: Did you find a solution for the brakes?
