Re: Tires

I got my Travelstar 225 75 R15 tires (whitewalls) almost 10 years ago. Still look like new. Got them at Pep Boys. I see that Walmart sells them too ($95).

Re: Emergency Brake not locking

The link below is a video about the return spring (he recommends using two springs). The hard part was accessing the assembly. I removed the front seat and the lower half of the fresh-air duct.

Re: Emergency Brake not locking

I had the same problem. I removed the emergency brake and found that the return spring was broken. I replaced the spring but still had the problem. Turns out, an insect of some sort had died in the hose between the neutral safety switch and the emergency brake vacuum canister. The body of the thing ...

Re: Speedometer Numbers

Thanks for all the tips--appreciate it. I was considering paint remover as a last resort. Haven't tried GooGone, but I've heard good things about it. The Dremel tip worked pretty well. I got rid of maybe 90% of the old paint. For the first time, the dash lights are shinning through the numbers.

Speedometer Numbers

I'm going to re-silver the numbers on my speedometer (soon as Amazon delivers my silver paint pen). Before I do that, I want to clean up the numbers--specifically, the green area in the middle where the light is supposed to shine through. A few of my numbers have paint covering the green plastic cen...

Re: are they all like this?

Thanks for the tips/advice everyone. The photos you included look a lot better than my setup. I'll try some more straightening and adjusting.

are they all like this?

There's a gap where the speedometer facing meets the center section. The bottom fits great, but the top of the center piece is pushed forward and to the right. I've tried several times to align it. Is there some way to adjust, or do they all do that?

Hey, TbirdIntender, I just noticed that custom white tufted headliner in your first photo. Have you got any other photos of that?

trunk torsion rod adjustment

My trunk torsion rods aren't set evenly, although they work all right. One side is on the first notch. The other side is on the third notch. I think I read somewhere that they need to be at the same notch on both sides or no more than one notch off. Is that important, or could I just go on with it t...

Re: Neutral safety switch 64

There's no trick to removing the screw, but it is a pain trying to reach it. I found out on mine that one side had a screw and one had a hex nut (probably whatever the previous owner had on hand). I just kept going at it with mini wrenches and mini sockets (5/16) and finally got it.

Good luck.

Re: Replacing Rear Turn signal bulb

I had to replace a taillight bulb today, too. Even though the bulb was on the far left, I had to remove the center section before I had enough room to access the thing. Yes, two aluminum trim pieces have to come off and many, many screws. The old bulb was cloudy. Maybe moisture got in.
